I really like your thought process and the information you give, but sometimes you say the same thing 13 different ways and I got it the first time. You don’t always have to explain yourself or have a story to back it up. I just listened for 10 minutes for you say, “focus on one thing at a time until you master it.” Then you used the class example, then your kid, then some girl who broke her leg… then I exited the podcast.

1353 - The Hidden Reason You're Still Not Consistent (It's NOT Your Strategy)
Q: Where is the guest now in the journey and what is he focusing on next?
He is focusing on testing a specific daily chart strategy, sticking with backtesting over a sustained period, and avoiding rushing into live trading until the strategy is proven across multiple scenarios.
1353 - The Hidden Reason You're Still Not Consistent (It's NOT Your Strategy)
Q: What is the end goal for improving your trading journey?
The guest aims to move from trying to rush profits to building a sustainable routine of backtesting, deliberate practice, and time-consuming testing that leads to a consistent, profitable approach.
1346 - One Strategy vs Multiple Strategies: The Truth About Trader Development
Q: Judy asks whether a trend-following trader should worry about other styles and if using multiple trading styles would be better or worse.
Akil responds that beginners should start by mastering a single strategy, testing it thoroughly, and only after achieving consistency should they consider expanding to additional strategies or assets. He emphasizes staged learning, managing information overload, and avoiding conflicting signals by not trying to trade everything at once. He also notes there is value in diversification over time, but warns against spreading too thin too early.
1324 - I Answered Your Biggest Trading Questions (AI, Systems & Psychology)
Q: Question four and five continuation. If performance drags, what are the evaluation steps you take to decide on changes rather than quitting?
You monitor quarterly performance, then six-month checks, and if still underperforming, you consider adjustments; if data later shows improvement, you stay; if not, you reassess the overall viability of the strategy within the broader market context.
1324 - I Answered Your Biggest Trading Questions (AI, Systems & Psychology)
Q: Question four and five. How long did you stick to your system before deciding it was garbage, and how can you tell if it needs tweaks versus abandonment?
A professional approach is to give a tested strategy a full year before ditching it, with quarterly and six-month evaluations to monitor performance and implement adjustments if needed; outright abandonment should come only after thorough consideration of data and regime changes.
