  • Wind in the Sails of a Weary Dad

As a stay-at-home tired dad of two kids under five, your candid content is relevant to the feelings, pressures, and stressors of being a dad. Listening in to your podcast, I feel less lonely in the exhaustion and more fulfilled by the adult conversation with fellow fathers. As a millennial dad at home, I sometimes feel out of place in an American culture that caters to moms and housewives; your perspective reaches a different audience. Please keep Podcasting with stories and insights on how to f... more

  • Fellow tired dad

Thank for you for this. I found you on Instagram. I am a tired dad. I struggle to let my wife and family know what I need and I just constantly keep moving as fast as I can all day everybody juggling work, two baby girls, family, marriage, and my health. Constantly find myself always on edge, tense, guilty, and no patience.

Listening to this recent episode, it helped me take a step back and hoping this is a point where I can better communicate what I need to be a better person, dad, husband, a... more

A Conversation with Sad Dads Club, the Nonprofit for Grieving Fathers
Q: Did you feel like you had no support, right? Like you were like, my wife is grieving. I'm grieving, but she's grieving more, and I need to be there for her.
Absolutely, I was so focused on making sure my wife was okay after our loss that I delayed my own grief and didn't care for myself as I should have.
We Aren't Experts, But We Are Honest...
Q: What should someone do when struggling with addiction alongside an unsupportive spouse?
Honest communication is key, but professional support is crucial; you can't change them, they must want help for themselves.
We Aren't Experts, But We Are Honest...
Q: How do you handle when your parenting styles are very different?
We find it challenging, but we try to communicate and ensure that one parent isn't always seen as the bad guy.
Men's Mental Health Month
Q: What are some coping strategies or resources you found that have been really helpful for you to maintain?
I use coffee as kind of my crutch. And then obviously cold plunging at night. I've been reading a lot more, just working on myself a lot more.
Men's Mental Health Month
Q: How are you feeling now, like physically and emotionally after recovering from that and not drinking?
I feel good physically. The mornings are better, a lot better. But definitely physically a lot better. Mentally, just ups and downs, you know, because I don't have that crutch.
