  • Deconstructed Non Christian - and I listen to every single one

I grew up Southern Baptist, and gay, not a good mix for acceptance or good mental health. This show shines a spotlight on everything that is wrong and still maintains the kind of love and mindfulness Christians should be about. I appreciate their brutal honesty and authenticity about both the wrong and the right things happening in religious institutions and/or traditions, and most importantly their fight against Christian nationalism and the immense harm it causes.

  • Thank you

Election Day, 2016- I cast my ballot and went straight to my car and sobbed in the parking lot. I knew it was wrong but couldn’t put words to it. I love Jesus. I just didn’t know how to make my vote align to my love of Jesus. I have struggled for the last ten years- not being about to verbalize my anger and outrage because I am a Christian. April’s book- Star Spangled Jesus put to words what I was feeling and what has been brewing in my heart. Thank you! I am now listening to this podcast along ... more

  • A Light Shining on a Hill

From the UK…the one good thing emerging from the Gateway/ Robert Morris scandal was finding this podcast

Insightful and impassioned, it makes sense of the insane clown posse circus that is MAGA/ Christian Nationalism in US politics, whilst holding on to calmer and kinder spiritual values.

Let those who have ears, baby….

109. The Epstein of the Church World: Lawyers Detail Horrifying Allegations Around Harvest Church Scandal
Q: What is the difference between a civil and a criminal case in this context?
A civil case seeks monetary damages for the wrongs, while a criminal case involves state prosecution for crimes; the lawyers note criminal charges could theoretically arise, but depend on prosecutorial decisions and jurisdiction, especially given foreign elements from Romania.
66. We're Gobbling Up that Mamdani & Trump Meeting
Q: How do you separate cultural Christianity from your personal spirituality/or relationship with God as part of your deconstruction or is that part of the whole journey?
My relationship with God and my spiritual life is mine and my own.
66. We're Gobbling Up that Mamdani & Trump Meeting
Q: How can conservatives, especially evangelical Christians, support Trump? He's everything you purport to be against.
The answer is positive dissonance and indoctrination.
54. Tim Debated Allie Stuckey on Jubilee and Has the Tea
Q: What did you learn about Allie Stuckey's approach to debate?
Tim critically analyzes Allie's approach, noting that she tends to not budge from her points, making it difficult to engage in meaningful dialogue.
54. Tim Debated Allie Stuckey on Jubilee and Has the Tea
Q: How do you feel about the debate format used in Jubilee?
Tim shares his concerns that the debate format limits nuanced discussion and often does not lend itself to deep conversation necessary to unpack complex topics.
