I listen in every week from Northern Ireland. Like most people in the UK and Ireland, I’m shocked to see what is currently happening in the US. It’s beyond belief! This podcast has helped me understand that the root cause of the rot that has set in - all the cruelty this ‘regime,’ is facilitating, is without a doubt, Christian nationalism. As a Christian attending an Anglican Church, I despair even from across the pond! Thank you both for articulating your views on it in such a knowledgeable and... more
Love both of you and love your show but as an outsider looking in (Canadian) referring to Tim’s comment about the US never losing a war, are you really saying that you won the Vietnam war? I agree that it’s not the point but I just couldn’t let that one go.
I can’t remember how I stumbled across Tim, but his takes made me feel so SEEN! Then I read April’s book Star Spangled Jesus and proceeded to recommend it to every person I encountered. As a child of Baptist private schooling in the Michigan bible belt with a mind blown by friends & family steadily embracing Christian nationalism, I need Tim & April - I’d listen to them every day if I could!
Tim and April are truth tellers in a world of lies and controlled media messaging. They come from the right wing evangelical world and they understand the dangers of Christian nationalism. They try to convey these dangers to others by calling out hypocrisy in pastors, churches and government . It is a breath of fresh air in a world that seems to have gone mad. I can’t recommend this show enough. If you, too, come from an evangelical past, it will help you to see more clearly how the current evan... more
I appreciate April and Tim sharing their experiences of what it was like growing up in the evangelical Christian world.
They never fail to bring a different perspective to the problematic ideologies that plaque that space. Thank You guys and keep it going!
