A crucial resource for understanding 1) the current cultural moment of heightened authoritarianism, particularly in the US and 2) for many of us, the content of our own religious pasts. Brad and Dan deal with texts and events with highly rigorous scholarly thought that is nonetheless accessible to anyone who can follow, say, an NPR-lecel discussion.
Nothing more to say, you totally “get it.” Cosplay.
Did you see Josh Hawley running away from his fellow rightwing insurrectionists in the Capitol on Jan 6th? Not much of a man and definitely not a man for American democracy.
The response to Mr. Kirk’s assassination is sickening. His parent’s political leanings do not matter. He wrote Antifa slogans on the bullets. His live in boyfriend was a tranny. Being an “academic” does not an intelligent person make. That’s if I’m being charitable. If it isn’t stupidity, then it’s deception. To what end…? Your callous, dishonest, reaction has done more to radicalize me than any voice on the supposed right possibly could.
