It's a good show, but that theme song is the most tone deaf, auto tuned, piece of garbage I've ever heard. It makes me not want to listen to the show.
I'm dropping my score another star less for not liking the theme to Pete and Pete. The person who thought the podcast's theme was acceptable to put out in public doesn't like Hey Sandy. Tasteless.
This podcast started out great covering classic TV shows. The only problem I see is that it stop making episodes. What is there is great. Just wish it didn't stop.
I found this podcast looking for material on You Can't Do That on Television, and discovered a lot of other great past memories! I hope the crew finishes off Season 1, and takes a look at other 80s and 90s programming beyond kids and Nick in a Season 2. Let me make some suggestions: McGyver, Chips, A Team, Three's Company, Alf, Cagney & Lacey, Cheers, Facts of Life, Charlie's Angels, Roseanne, Diff'rent Strokes, WKRP in Cincinnati, Dukes of Hazzard, Greatest American Hero, Mork and Mindy, Mar... more
I guess the podcast is experiencing another hiatus, but I found it great. I love the theme song contest ending. I also wanted to let Solo know he's not solo in knowing about Today's Special. I was too young to remember it, but my older sister rememered and explained everything to me about the show. I hope you guys come back eventually since technically you're still finishing up the first season. I also wanted to add that Petunia on Pete and Pete was Little Pete's tatoo. He wiggles his arm to mak... more
Great casts on Are you afraid of the dark, You can't do that on TV, Land of the lost, and Hey Verne it's Earnest. Oh and let's not forget ABC weekend specials. I miss these shows and I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm wondering what the hosts thoughts on ABC Dinosaurs...Gotta love me.
...wha wha what would you, wha wha what would you, wha wha what would you do?
What would you do?!?!
By far the best show on GeekCast radio. Optimus Solo does an amazing job and I can't imagine a better host to bring back the childhood memories with all these classic TV shows. The guy is articulate, informative, and brings a great personality as well. A+ work bro. If I had any complaints it would be some of the guest hosts. I won't name names but it's obvious that some don't bring much to the table and seem awkward compared to Solo. Think Tara and JT both compliment Optimus Solo the best and ha... more
I came across this after being a fan of the other geekcast podcast. I have to say I am addicted. I appreciate the time you guys put into giving us so many shows to listen to. Keep up the good work and I love to hear Tele-cast do some 80's shows like Small Wonder, out of this world, ALF, Punky Brewster just to name a few. Thanks five stars
I am starting from the beginning, and just finished up through Episode 6 - Bill Nye the Science Guy, and love what I am hearing so far. The hosts do an incredible job looking back on these shows. Although the Nick shows were just barely after my time, and not really see any of those shows, I really enjoy the reviews. I love The Good, the Bad and the Ugly portion of each episode. And kudos doing the "Where are they Now", and telling us where we can find the shows if they are available anywher... more
The Geekcast crew have created another entertaining podcast.
This podcast will take you back to those favourite kids shows you enjoyed in your childhood. After listening to this podcast, you start to appreciate how great childrens programming really was back in the day. I love listening to the guys give their personal opinions, but I most enjoy the fun facts given towards the end of each show.
I am really hoping the guys decide to review other more family type shows such as Blossom, Parker Le... more
Great, great podcast. Just amazing.
Kevin, Telecast seems to be doing great. I really enjoyed the puppet saga, especially with the Jim Henson shows. I adored Sesame Street as a child and the Muppet Show was always a laugh. It's funny that I saw Kermit the Frog as a news reporter on Sesame Street before I even knew what the Muppets were. As for the the Saved By The Bell Shows, I can't give much feedback on these shows. I was born in in the early 90s, so I was very young while these shows were on. However I took your advice and watc... more
Thank you soo much for creating a podcast that talks about the greatest tv shows from two of the greatest decades!! You guys are hilarious and you make my work day go by soo fast. Keep up the great work!!
Great show for all the shows I ever grew up on. There a few that I really didn't really remember seeing when I was younger, but after listening to this show, a flood of memories came back! Now I have a whole slew of shows to watch...
Very cool podcast and a trip down memory lane to hear about the shows we grew up with in the 80's and 90's and it's awesome that Kevin and the GCRN people help us remember them and give a good summary of each show and while you listen to them your head fills with the memories and gets you nostalgic feeling.thank you guys.
