  • The hosts ruin it

I love many of the HBO ‘after the episode’ podcast. This is particularly awful. You need better hosts.

  • Anesthesiologists

As a retired physician (anesthesiologist) I can relate to many of the issues on the show. Often, when I was on call at the hospital, I was called to the ER to help intubate a patient that the staff there was unable to accomplish. The writers might want to consider adding that scenario to their scripts. I also wish I could mention to Noah Wyle who was just here in New Orleans for Mardi Gras, that the ER climate during Mardi Gras is quite a ride. Having spent my internship year at Charity Hospita... more

  • The hosts are distracting

I love the show. But this podcast is a bit annoying. The speech patterns of the hosts make them sound immature and inexperienced. Hearing directly from cast and writers saves this podcast. Fast forward through the banter of the hosts.

  • Great show, not so great podcast

While The Pitt is amazing, the same can’t be said about this official podcast. The hosts have absolutely zero chemistry and neither add much insight about the show. The male host dominates the conversation and is overbearing.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

2:00 P.M. with Irene Choi, Lucas Iverson and Lyn Paolo
Q: How did you guys come onto the show and what were your auditions like?
Auditions were chaotic and deeply personal, with both actors rushing to meet deadlines, leading to a highly organic and emotional casting process where Irene felt seen as an Asian woman and Lucas found motivation to prove himself in a crowded, talented cast.
1:00 P.M. with Amielynn Abellera, Kristin Villanueva and Dr. Kathleen Sekula
Q: How else do you think that the culture around SANE and this kind of trauma-informed care has evolved over time?
Through education and feedback, recognizing that we were not doing things right with victims of sexual assault, now hospitals prioritize having trained SANEs available for immediate care.
1:00 P.M. with Amielynn Abellera, Kristin Villanueva and Dr. Kathleen Sekula
Q: What does it actually take in terms of training to become certified, and to become a SANE?
It takes learning how to collect evidence and assess the patient, as assault patients are different, requiring a trauma-informed care approach to give back control to the patient after their violation.
1:00 P.M. with Amielynn Abellera, Kristin Villanueva and Dr. Kathleen Sekula
Q: Dr. Sekula, can you tell us what SANE is and how it fits into the healthcare system?
SANEs are sexual assault nurse examiners, and they're specially trained to assess and treat patients who have been victims of really any types of assault, but sexual assault in particular.
11:00 A.M. with Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Nina Ruscio and Matt Callahan
Q: How does Santos' intuition affect her work as a doctor?
Santos trusts her gut, which helps her spot vulnerable patients.
