  • Hummel & Wright

Great to hear recent interviews with Dan Hummel and Tom Wright. The interaction with Hummel about his book on dispensationalism was peaceable, respectful without insisting on a mere kum-by-ya session. I’ve read Hummel’s work and was quite curious how my alma mater would take it. I learned a lot from the points of difference and distinction. A great example of how to engage with people of differing views.

Your conversation with Tom Wright on Romans 8 was also very affirming. I’m in a group that... more

  • Content and Tone - perfect combination

One of the reasons I love this podcast is because they don’t shy away from tough topics. The other reason is the way in which they engage these issues. The focus is on understanding and listening rather than labeling and judging. Keep up the great work🙌🏾

Is Christian Education The Same As Discipleship?
Q: Can you give a little bit of your understanding of discipleship and how the two are related but different?
Discipleship is a process of engaging minds, hearts, and behaviors with the Word of God, aiming for spiritual transformation rather than simply learning information or conducting activities; Christian education is the framework or program that can host that process, whether in churches or schools, but the goal is to cultivate growth toward Christ.
Understanding Dispensationalism (Classic)
Q: What do you mean by dispensationalism or dispensation in the Bible?
Dispensationalism is a hermeneutic characterizing the Bible as a storyline that unfolds in distinguishable eras, observing shifts in God's relationship with Israel and the Church without them being fully replaced or merged, and reading prophecies with Israel's future in view.
The Church's Role in Racial Reconciliation (Classic)
Q: What is your take on the church's role in racial issues?
The church must intentionally incorporate reconciliation as one of its core DNA values to combat racism and serve its community.
The Church's Role in Racial Reconciliation (Classic)
Q: How do you think about reconciliation in the context of your ministries?
Reconciliation starts with a biblical framework, focusing on the two-way street of the cross, not just reconciliation to God but also to one another.
Pastoring the Pastors
Q: What can we do about the frequent tragic occurrences of pastoral burnout?
Discuss the need for preventative measures, opportunities for self-disclosure, and increasing awareness of mental health resources.
