informative podcast but sound is not great - it’s very quiet compared to other podcasts which makes listening difficult sometimes. really enjoy learning more about this city though and the chronological approach.
Was looking for a good London history podcast ahead of my first trip there later this year. This one is fantastic. Saul is an excellent storyteller. He clearly has vast historical knowledge and his passion for it shines through, making the podcast even exciting at times. Thank you Saul!
This exemplary series should be the template for all history podcasts. Saul is passionate and informed, and his emphasis on the human and social context of historic events makes the ongoing narrative deeply engaging. Highly recommended.
Very well-researched and vividly retold. Episode art is so poor and distracting that I have to avoid looking at it in order to enjoy.
An enthralling listen. I am a London Tour Guide, and this material is GOLD. Telling the whole narrative is a vast enterprise. Saul you are to be congratulated on a heroic campaign. An epic. One for the ages I have a question though. I guide at All Hallows by the Tower. Founded 675 AD by Ethelnerga of ESSEX. The Abbey it is beholden to is Barking not Canterbury or London. The date and time do not chime with the Mercia theory...please explain
