The Steep Stuff Podcast goes way beyond the nuanced race results and gear talk. James is a true professional and there’s a clear sense of perfecting the craft over the last year. The conversations feel real, unforced, and human. It’s more like sitting in on a long run chat than listening to an interview. You’re listening and feel like you’re part of the conversation.
What sets it apart is the patience, the honesty of each guest, and James ability to drive the podcast forward. Guests are given s... more
This is one of the best sports podcasts period! As a former guest and listener to every episode, James is a wonderfully kind, thoughtful, and perceptive interviewer who really does his research on each guest and thinks of creative ways to connect with them. His genuine interest in each person and love for the sport shines through every ep.
James has a lot of guests, but he’s so great at picking excellent athletes to bring on and having a conversation in a way that makes everyone comfortable and engaging. Seriously impressed by his interview skills!
Professional and elite sports frequently feel so distant and difficult to grasp for the average person. James does a great job removing all the noise and gets into real, down-to-earth conversations with the sport’s best. It’s refreshing to listen to a podcast that puts genuineness above all else. Keep up the great work!
Up there with Singletrack and Freetrail. Really great podcast. James, I love to know who coaches these beasts and what their workouts look like so please keep asking!
