  • Highly Informative

These podcasts are amazing resources for founders. I’m an avid listener and love the content overall. One small piece of feedback is the new host (Hannah) often spends too much time echoing back to the guest what they just said and it comes off as if she’s trying to show off and sound eloquent. She seems very smart and genuine but would do well to let the guest shine a little more.

  • Startup CPG Retail Sales Tracker

I attended my first Grocery Run event in Chicago and had the chance to meet buyers face to face — then came home and listened to this episode. Everything landed differently because of that experience. The tracker suddenly made complete sense: the retailer sequencing, the review calendars, knowing how to structure your outreach. I could map it directly to the conversations I’d just had. If you’re an emerging brand, don’t sleep on this. And if you can get to an in-person event first, do it — you’l... more

  • Thank you for providing another resource in the world of CPG.

As a CPG brand, I find these podcasts educational, inspiring and informative. I love to learn other brands stories and the “why” behind the brand. It is refreshing and encouraging to know other brands challenges are the same or similar to your own and that you are not alone in navigating the sea of CPG.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Founder Feature: The OB/GYN Formulating Pharmaceuticals for Period Care - Margo Harrison of Wave Bye
Q: What is the difference between an FDA-approved drug and a supplement in this context?
An FDA-approved drug requires demonstrated safety and efficacy for specific claims; supplements can't claim to treat diseases, so the regulatory pathway and language must be carefully chosen to avoid disease-specific assertions while communicating benefits.
Founder Feature: The OB/GYN Formulating Pharmaceuticals for Period Care - Margo Harrison of Wave Bye
Q: How are you feeling about the FDA meeting and how do you prepare for it?
There is a mix of excitement and fear; preparation is thorough and collaborative, involving extensive strategy sessions, trial planning, and a clear argument about how the product fits regulatory expectations while meeting consumer needs, with contingency options if the meeting shifts the requirements.
Founder Feature: The OB/GYN Formulating Pharmaceuticals for Period Care - Margo Harrison of Wave Bye
Q: Can you tell us just very briefly what Wave Bye is?
Wave Bye is a pharmaceutical company developing a direct-to-consumer, pre-menstrual treatment for period pain and bleeding, with the goal of proactive, preventative management rather than reactive symptom relief, and plans to pursue FDA approval for broader claims.
Investor Spotlight: Bill Schultz, Beliade Consumer Partners
Q: How long does fundraising last and what are the steps in the process?
Fundraising is ongoing, with a recommended approach to cultivate relationships continuously. The six-week sprint model covers initial cold outreach, a two-way introductory conversation, quick diligence items, a one-pager, and then deeper diligence if there's mutual interest, culminating in a formal investment decision.
#249 - Expo Pitch Slam Recap with ChiChi Foods
Q: What stood out about the judges and the selection process that made you feel you had a real shot?
The panel was stacked with influential buyers and leaders from Sprouts, Whole Foods, Hannaford, UNFI Up Next, and Advantage FDM; seeing those names confirmed the legitimacy of the opportunity and our potential to reach key accounts.
