  • Highly Informative

These podcasts are amazing resources for founders. I’m an avid listener and love the content overall. One small piece of feedback is the new host (Hannah) often spends too much time echoing back to the guest what they just said and it comes off as if she’s trying to show off and sound eloquent. She seems very smart and genuine but would do well to let the guest shine a little more.

I could map it directly to the conversations I’d just had. If you’re an emerging brand, don’t sleep on this. And if you can get to an in-person event first, do it — you’l... more

  • Thank you for providing another resource in the world of CPG.

As a CPG brand, I find these podcasts educational, inspiring and informative. I love to learn other brands stories and the “why” behind the brand. It is refreshing and encouraging to know other brands challenges are the same or similar to your own and that you are not alone in navigating the sea of CPG.

Investor Spotlight: Founder Investor Fit, Gross Margins, and the KPIs That Actually Drive Consumer Businesses - Rana Taghdisi Argenio, Palette Ventures
Q: What gross margin targets should I aim for for my company?
Use a practical, hands-on approach: consult your manufacturer to understand margins across direct-to-consumer and omni-channel distribution, consider higher CAC realities in retail, and run price-testing to determine acceptable margins while preserving growth and cash flow.
Investor Spotlight: Consumer Psychology, Channel Strategy, and What Actually Makes Brands Win — David Bell, Idea Farm Ventures
Q: How long is the typical timeline between a first and second fundraise?
The typical timeline can be three to four years, but it should be purpose-driven, with clear milestones like achieving profitability, securing a significant retailer PO, or building momentum on the Amazon flywheel, while also considering strategic offline scale.
Founder Feature: Bone Broth Tomato Sauce and a New Twist on a Family Recipe- Liana Krasnow, Noodo
Q: Do you want to share anything about your experience at Expo West as a first-time exhibitor?
Expo West provided tangible ROI through new accounts, with a last-minute booth opportunity turning into four worthwhile deals; proper staffing and face-to-face feedback were emphasized as key benefits of the event.
Founder Feature: Bone Broth Tomato Sauce and a New Twist on a Family Recipe- Liana Krasnow, Noodo
Q: Have you had any outsiders come into the process as you were developing your brand, like for the formula?
Initially the process was very family-driven, with core family members handling formulation and production, maintaining control over the base recipe and texture before bringing in external support for go-to-market aspects.
Founder Feature: Bone Broth Tomato Sauce and a New Twist on a Family Recipe- Liana Krasnow, Noodo
Q: How many sauces did you taste in R&D as you were developing your own?
We tasted around 80 sauces during development, using inputs from the family kitchen and local labs, while prioritizing texture and flavor that align with the bone-broth concept.
