  • Okay but not great

If you can get past the casual misogyny of Tyler’s co-host, there is some good information here but it is all very bro coded. There are better podcasts out there.

  • Made His Choice

I’m disappointed that Tyler had made the choice to endorse the use of AI. His insistence on using ChatGpt for creative tasks and to actually have a podcast episode completely edited by AI is stealing work and unnecessary.

  • Great Podcast If You Love Cameras & Tech

I love this podcast! It is informative, entertaining and at times even educational. I definitely hope that Tyler sticks with this format for many years to come. My only small critique would be that more often than not Tyler tends to talk AT his guests and not so much WITH his guests. To elaborate: I don't see the point of having a guest on if the host talks for 2/3 of the run time. But that is a rather small complaint and I otherwise absolutely adore this podcast. Tyler is very talented and inte... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

159: Mastering iPhone Camera Settings
Q: Is Pro Raw necessary for most professional campaigns, or is ProRes sufficient?
Most campaigns don't require full Pro Raw; ProRes (and ProRes with Log) covers the majority of professional needs with better workflow efficiency, while Pro Raw remains valuable for high-end production where the ultimate post-control is essential.
159: Mastering iPhone Camera Settings
Q: When do you switch to ProRes and Apple Log in everyday shooting versus client work?
For personal or casual shoots, use default modes or more compressed workflows; switch to ProRes and Log when you need maximum color grading flexibility, dynamic range control, and professional-looking results for client work or longer-term projects.
151: Inside the iPhone 17 Camera Design
Q: How do you guys think about things like AI and machine learning and how they can integrate into the iPhone camera system?
Machine learning helps us understand what's occurring in the image, ensuring that the things in the scene were actually there without generative alterations.
151: Inside the iPhone 17 Camera Design
Q: Can you just tell me a little bit more about how it's actually doing that stabilization?
The hardware stabilization uses a new closed loop control that senses and corrects the lens position in real time to stabilize the lens focus position even under external vibration.
149: Which fitness gadgets are worth it? with Shervin Shares
Q: What do you or don't you use for tracking?
I use apps like MyFitnessPal and Levels Health, but tracking can require effort and isn't consistent for long-term use.
