I’m a bit bemused by some of the negative reviews here. I’ve been following JG for years. This Talk Show is just a way of hanging out with like-minded folk. I dig it. There’s no agenda, just chat. Apple focused chat, with a dash of American sports and Stanley Kubrick. It’s all very informal, and fun. And from time to time – insightful. I just wish there were more of them.
Mr. Gruber, is a pudgy, aging Apple Mac & iPhone reviewer that’s no longer relevant in today’s complex tech and AI world and seems lost. He’s also got a severe case of TDS which has probably gotten worse with President Trump being re-elected to the White House. But his main problem is that he’s just a terrible interviewer. MAGA🇺🇸
Came for the David Pogue Apple 50th anniversary book interview, but 70+% it was John Gruber pontificating. I came to hear about the book, not listen to John constantly adding on or re-packaging what David said. Except for the small tidbits David shared (and I enjoyed), the podcast was a turn off. Won’t be back.
The host goes on and on from one topic to the next and barely lets his guest get in a word.
Five * all the way for triggering some “facts don’t care about your feelings” crowd. For the lulz. Keep up the good work, JG!
