  • Not the Newsagents

I subscribe to the Newsagents, yet this show has been “dumped” into my subscribed podcasts, downloaded and there’s no way to stop it. It’s effectively podcast spam. If I wanted to listen to a sport podcast, I would subscribe to one. Just pack it in, and jog on.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Who's to blame for West Ham's relegation? | Michail Antonio on Bowen's future & England's 'Egos'
Q: Let's talk about Jarrod Bowen and how relegation affects his future decisions.
Bowen will want to continue playing at the highest level, and the relegation makes a move more likely if the club can't compete in the Premier League; players will choose personal career goals alongside club economics.
Spygate 2.0: Should Play-Off Final be CANCELLED?
Q: Does the speed of the decision suggest flaws in the process?
The hosts and guests noted that while speed ensured timely resolution ahead of Wembley, it might have limited the opportunity to explore every argument in depth, though the consensus was that the final penalties were appropriate given the misconduct.
Spygate 2.0: Should Play-Off Final be CANCELLED?
Q: What is the likely legal basis for Hull City claiming they should go up directly?
Hull's owner argued there was a basis to promote them without playing, but the discussion clarified that the legal framework and the panel decisions still require Middlesbrough to take Southampton's place and that a direct promotion would contradict the final decisions already issued.
How to beat the 'Big 6' | Inside Premier League's 'best-run' club with Brighton CEO Paul Barber
Q: Can you tell us anything that confirms Fabian Hürzeler has extended his contract?
Fabian has agreed to stay for three more years; the ink is just about drying on that new contract.
How Sebastian Sawe broke two-hour Marathon record... and will it stand?
Q: What about integrity and the broader testing landscape for endurance athletes?
Sponsorship-supported testing programs and a push for rigorous, credible testing are essential to maintaining trust in the sport, especially given the scrutiny on athletes from some regions.
