  • Good Information

Keep informing I Love the way you and your guests presented the issue of emigration. American-born people do not know the difficulty is to leave their family, community, and roots, and starting a new life. The way a caller to talk about immigrants was hurtful, hard. He probably think he is a Christian If he is talking about immigrants that way, he doesn't know anything and probably he is been awful to them. PLEASE keep informing

  • I’m Hooked!

David Martin Davies (DMD) is one of the most insightful and curious interviewer. He is extremely well prepared and informed on his subject. He’s no slacker. He displays his emotional intelligence deftly and is an actively engaged listener. He’s not ready to read the next question directly from the 5x8 cards. He follows up with the obvious question or to a statement that begs the question. He’s fair and balanced as he tackles one issue a day. I appreciate his exceptional work.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Protecting your trees from oak wilt
Q: Is trenching funded or supported by the city for containment?
There is no city program to trench neighborhoods; trenching is considered on a case-by-case basis with cost-share programs through Texas A&M Forest Service for isolation of mortality centers.
Protecting your trees from oak wilt
Q: What should homeowners do to prevent oak wilt while pruning?
Paint pruning cuts immediately with flat black spray paint, avoid pruning February through June, and disinfect tools between trees to prevent spread.
Is America entering a new Gilded Age?
Q: How will technology and automation affect labor, and what alternatives exist to prevent a social calamity?
A model is presented where robots upskill workers (nurses, doctors) to improve productivity and access to care, demonstrating a trade-off between profitability and social desirability; democratic social choice should guide these technological deployments to prevent widespread displacement.
Is America entering a new Gilded Age?
Q: What does Section 230 of the Telecommunications Act mean for democracy and truth in public discourse?
Kurz suggests Section 230 should be revised so that only truthful information is protected; falsehoods in public content would not be shielded, thereby incentivizing more responsible information sharing while maintaining free expression.
Should SA bond voters have more of a say on Project Marvel?
Q: Could Project Marvel break the mold on how San Antonio votes on municipal improvement bonds?
The councilmember suggests a more transparent, district-aware approach, with sub-propositions for specific elements and a clear explanation of financing sources, while acknowledging that the city council will decide how items appear on the ballot; the goal is to empower voters with a fuller understanding of what is being funded and how.
