  • No connection to Texas

I love the vibe of this podcast. The information has almost no bearing on my life. I’m from North Florida and live in NY. Just love to listen.

  • Informative, leveled information

Factual, informational podcast with reliable, well-sourced news about Texas. Some of the reviews claiming this is leftist are laughable - spoiler alert, it’s not full of lies and clickbait, which I appreciate.

  • Unabashed Leftist Ideology/Propaganda

OMG! Where to begin? About 30 minutes in it was actually comical the rate at which the relentless leftist talking points and Liberal Democrat Propaganda continued with relentless intensity and no sign of abating. This podcast exemplifies everything Radical Liberals stand for and offers compelling evidence that liberalism really is a mental illness. Too funny!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Pulitzer-winning writer reflects on loss and survival in the Central Texas floods
Q: What made you decide to tell this story in the first person?
Parsley says he wanted to convey a message about his sister's actions during the flood and to give testimony about what happened, including the heroism shown and the family's gratitude.
What to know about hantavirus
Q: Why is hantavirus fear on cruise ships different from COVID-19?
Because hantavirus transmission generally requires close, prolonged contact and symptomatic infection, unlike COVID-19 where asymptomatic people can spread the virus, the perception of risk on ships is different and often more alarming.
What to know about hantavirus
Q: What are the symptoms around hantavirus and how's it spread?
Hantavirus spreads from rodents through urine, feces, saliva, or bites; initial symptoms resemble the flu and can progress to severe lung involvement, with a higher case-fatality rate but uncertain denominator due to asymptomatic cases.
Texas camps race to meet new safety rules
Q: What is driving the delay and confusion around the new camp licensing rules this year?
Operators cite deficiencies in how emergency plans are reviewed, word-choice issues triggering deficiency notices, and the broader requirement to obtain plan approval from the Department of State Health Services, leading to delays and uncertainty about licenses.
Texas scientists discover new jellyfish species
Q: What gave you or the PhD candidate a sense that this jellyfish might be different from any of the others that you had seen before?
The combination of location, offshore deep-water habitat, and notably smaller size compared with the usual Moon Jellyfish led us to sequence a gene and confirm the new species identity.
