Y’all-itics is the unofficial political podcast of Texas. Each week we’ll crack open an ice-cold Texas brew and explore a single hot topic affecting Texans. But this isn’t politics as usual. Y’all-itics doesn’t come from a fancy studio. We’re taking our podcast on the road to get past the soundbites and dive deeper into the issues that matter to y’all. Leave your labels at the door, this is a poli... more

At first I enjoyed the Beer Banter, but now there are real and dangerous political issues to talk about in Texas and on the Federal level. Ditch the Beer talk and “let’s get down to it”.
What’s nice about this podcast is that the coverage is very broad. Politically, geographically (within Texas, of course) and demographically they provide a great overview of current political affairs in the Lone Star State. The journalism, however, is very narrow. What the guests have to say is taken at face value and post interview analysis is often just providing high-level context. It would be nice to see more value add from the journalists involved in creating this show. For example, a recen... more
Thanks for doing the good work and keeping us informed on what’s going on in Texas!
As a teacher, I really appreciate the coverage you guys had on South Lake a few months (years?) ago!
Cypress Fairbanks ISD is the third largest district in Texas, after HISD and DISD. In 2021, three Christian Nationalists were elected to the board. Two years ago, three more were elected, giving them a 6-1 super majority. There’s been quite a bit of coverage of some of their decisions (removing 13 chapters of... more
Been listening occasionally for over a year now. You need to skip to about 5 min in unless you need a beer suggestion (they seem to prefer IPA’s). Then the two lefty reporters often discuss Texas related topics. with a progressive slant. Often have interviews with Texas related subject experts.

The show centers Texas politics through topical, issue-driven conversations that mix in-depth interviews with party leaders, lawmakers, and regional experts alongside roundtable analysis from seasoned reporters. Recent episodes weave together statewide races, policy debates on taxes, policing, and education, and timely events like endorsements, election dynamics, and national–Texas intersect. A recurring throughline is a practical, on-the-ground view of how policy choices affect everyday Texans, from urban governance to rural concerns, often featuring a mix of Republican and Democratic perspectives and input from local business and civic leaders. Noteworthy strengths include candid debates on strategy, data-backed analysis, and a willingnes... more
