  • Great Gatsby

Thanks for this episode on reading, and the value of teaching literary analysis. I hated Gatsby in high school, and while I see it’s value I am thankful I went to a high school in the early 2000s that also had us reading Toni Morrison, Zora Neal Thurston and Sherman Alexie. On another note, I adore Nghi Vo’s fantastical re- imagination of the Great Gatsby in her book The Chosen and the Beautiful. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a Gatsby palette cleanser, and enjoys fantasy or magical realism.... more

  • No K-12 Teachers when discussing K-12 school policies?

A whole episode about phone policies in K-12 schools and interviewees are collegiate researchers but not actual public school, K-12, educators? I’m a high school teacher at a public school who has a Yondr pouch phone policy. It’d be great for NPR to actually include actual teachers who actually know about this very topic rather than just listen, yet again, to data and research.

  • Best NPR Podcast

This is my favorite podcast produced by NPR! Brittany Luse is such a funny, likable host. I don’t listen to as high a proportion of new episodes now that IBAM is putting out more episodes per week, but my enjoyment of each episode that I do listen to has not decreased. 5/5
