  • Halperin is a problem

And Michael is going along with it. I’ve never criticized Michael before, even if I disagreed on some level, I always appreciated his other perspective. His conversation with Halperin about the wealth Trump has accumulated is sooo disappointing. For both of them. And to hear Mark call Trump a “student of presidential history”… am I living in an alternate universe here

  • Finally…. A true Independent!

Michael is the rare person in the media today that can discuss both sides of an issue and not be pigeon holed into one opinion without listening to the other. He has his views and beliefs, and shares them with the audience, however, he is not pushing any agenda like most media are today. As a registered independent, this is very refreshing!

  • Becoming wish washy

Have listened for years on Sirius. Cancelled subscription of 27$ a month to be offered to return for 5$ As a long time listener always found him to be fair, leaning Right. But not in your face MAGA. On the podcasts it’s has become to right leaning. The poll questions I find are all towards the right or policy So basically no loss from unsubscribing from Sirius

  • Sharp and gives an insight into US opinion

I watch this guy's show on CNN but followed the podcast because I can listen to it anytime, and it's a short 'bite' of the main show. It's depressing sometimes to hear the phone ins because you realize that there are actually Americans who believe that the Emperor really has got his new clothes on. Smerconish succesfully steers a mid course between those who see through Trump, and those strange people who think that Trump is OK. Clearly his show is watched by both sides of the spectrum. His pol... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Today's Poll Question: If the Public Can Attend, Should Cameras Have a Right to Be There Too?
Q: Why should cameras be allowed in government proceedings that the public can attend?
Cameras preserve transparency and public trust by showing how decisions are made and ensuring accountability, as exemplified by C-Span's long-running model; the host argues that openness helps citizens engage and understand government.
Why America’s $40 Trillion Debt Matters to Your Wallet
Q: What does $40 trillion mean for the average person?
It's about $117,000 per person and roughly $297,000 per household in debt responsibility, with interest costs crowding out other priorities and affecting mortgage rates, loans, and taxes.
Today's Poll Question: Are the U.S. and Canada still allies?
Q: So are the US and Canada still allies? Do you still regard Canada as an American ally?
Yes, by treaty and institutional ties like NORAD, Five Eyes, and NATO, the alliance remains intact despite recent tariff tensions and political disagreements; public sentiment in Canada shows some fatigue, but official defense and intelligence cooperation continues to anchor the relationship.
Inside Trump’s Mysterious Air Force One Security Move
Q: How does the White House balance security with media access during travel?
They strive to provide necessary access to the press while withholding sensitive operational details, using structured plans and selective disclosures to meet security needs without compromising safety.
Trump’s Vaccine Changes Put Parental Choice to the Test
Q: Should parents have the final say on their child's vaccines?
The guest argues that while parental input is important, medical guidance and scientifically grounded evidence should drive decisions, and encourages relying on physicians and professional medical associations for information.
