  • Interview with a vanLier

When you choose to interview Tapper it’s the same as playing with pigs. You get muddy and realize you’re playing with a pig.

Sorry you put yourself in the role of joining Tapper and his lies. Was he lying when he said Biden just had a stutter and was sharp or is he lying now that he wishes he had covered the story?

Many good books out there with authors who have knowledge, integrity, and have done hard work. This book is the product of none of that.

Interviews are way too short. When he does actually have an interesting guest it’s over in no time.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

David Paul Kuhn: "The Hardhat Riot"
Q: Is your argument that the Hard Hat Riot was like the seminal moment or just a milestone on this continuum?
While it was not a turning point, the Hard Hat Riot serves as a microcosm of all the events transpiring around that time and led to Nixon's blue collar strategy.
David Paul Kuhn: "The Hardhat Riot"
Q: Was there a particular trigger on the 8th of May?
The tensions had been escalating for a while, but a Viet Cong flag waved at a rally in Lower Manhattan was likely the singular trigger for the Hard Hat Riot.
Bill McKibben: "Here Comes the Sun"
Q: Why doesn't big oil just pivot into big solar?
McKibben explains that it's not as profitable for big oil, as the sun delivers energy for free, making it less attractive to traditional fossil fuel companies.
Bill McKibben: "Here Comes the Sun"
Q: What would you say is substitive? Yeah, give me, hold on one second. Give me the data point. Tell me what is the substantive thing you would most want to respond to him with.
McKibben argues that there's a scientific consensus on climate change, pointing out the dangerous effects seen in various industries like insurance.
Bill McKibben: "Here Comes the Sun"
Q: Can we start with something about which we'll all agree? Let's talk about the Beatles and George Harrison and that song. Why do we all love that song?
McKibben reflects on the connection to the sun and how it inspires music and emotions, emphasizing its gentle and optimistic nature in dark moments.
