Call for immigration reform now. Have you not seen the old Republicans saying Golly we didn’t want this. Why don’t we just reform the immigration system? Those little vignettes are all over TV news right now. Take a look. Pay attention.

  • Old ideas that got us here

This is probably the quintessential neo-liberal podcast, full of old ideas that got the US where it is today and gutted the middle class: no universal healthcare, as if the subsidies helped anyone in the middle class. I occasionally hate-listen but they’re not very consistent and they are basically the spokespeople for failed boomer policy and laissez-faire capitalism that helps only the wealthy, like they themselves are.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

360: Winning Hearts & Minds with Stephen A. Smith & Dr. Trita Parsi
Q: How do Iranian minorities inside Iran influence the domestic response to foreign policy pressures and potential conflict?
Parsi explains that minorities have varied support and that external actors should consider internal dynamics, as diversification of domestic opinion can shift the sustainability of any political outcome.
360: Winning Hearts & Minds with Stephen A. Smith & Dr. Trita Parsi
Q: What do you think is the core reason the Iran conflict has spiraled into a prolonged crisis, and what should be the U.S. strategy moving forward?
The guest emphasizes that misperceptions about Iran's resolve and the regime's durability, plus misreads by leadership, have prolonged the crisis; a cautious, diplomatic, and well-structured policy approach, rather than hawkish escalation, is needed.
359: WAR, What Is It Good For? with Max Boot
Q: What explains Trump's approach to the war in the Middle East according to Max Boot?
Boot frames the explanations as shifting and unclear, suggesting a strategic aim to leave a historical footprint while balancing mixed signals to domestic audiences and allies, rather than a simple objective like decisive victory.
355: Stop The Steal with Michael Waldman
Q: What will stop groups like the Proud Boys from harassing or intimidating voters near the polls?
The Proud Boys, I mean, I'm sure that some of these thugs are trying to show up. But what I'd tell the people that are not Proud Boys, show up in numbers.
355: Stop The Steal with Michael Waldman
Q: Should I be ashamed of myself for asking that question?
No, it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility.
