  • Love it

Love this podcast! It's great to have the two perspectives - sleep coach and medical doctor. They cite their sources and reference both studies and their own experiences. I'll be buying the book!

  • Balanced, down-to-earth, and helpful

They are very knowledgeable and well-grounded and give appropriate nuance to things, while still having good suggestions and perspectives about sleep related issues. I also like that they have both a doctor and a baby sleep coach, which is helpful because you get more of a medical perspective from one and a more broad perspective from the other.

From one of the episodes I was able to make some connections as to what was happening with my own child which was helpful.

Assess daytime feeding to ensure adequate calories, then gradually reduce overnight feeding by shortening time at the breast, with a transition to soothing methods at night while keeping safe sleep practices.
Episode 18: Your Questions, Answered
Q: What are your thoughts on whether to start sleep training when a baby is still waking frequently?
If the child is consistently waking and the family is struggling, sleep training can be appropriate, but it should align with parenting values and be introduced gradually with one change at a time.
