A cute show but I couldn’t make it past the second episode due to the godawful laugh track. I get the whole sitcom genre thing but they were awful then and they are downright bizarre now. Hope they reconsider.
This was a great show. Light hearted and easy to listen to. Hope they bring it back for a second season.
Just found this podcast sitcom, and I love it so much! I literally got addicted and binge listened to it in a matter of days and I really want Season 2 to come out! I have my own podcast, but this has made me want to make my own podcast SITCOM! So please make Season 2 soon, I’m telling my friends about The Shelf Life!
Podcast sitcoms are still a rarity now, because they so rarely WORK. They don’t need to be overly produced with lots of bells and whistles and shiny new .wav files or whatever - they don’t even need to be well ACTED. This is a charming podcast reminiscent of early radio comedies. Set in a small-town bookstore, it features a memorable cast of characters, each with their own set of secrets and foibles. Fun and funny (I laughed out loud several times), it's an enjoyable romp .
The podcast features a laugh-track straight from the 70's, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. [Truth be told, I believe I'd have preferred a non-laugh-track option.] But don't let that stop you from checking it out.
Such a fantastic show! The acting, writing and sound effects are all incredible. Can’t wait for season two!
I think the show would work much better without the canned audience laughter.
Short and sweet interludes of escapism…
This is a great podcast to listen to. Lovely show.
Starting this podcast was the perfect way to spend a quiet, rainy morning. The writing is charming and clever, the voice actors do a superb job, and the production is great. Give it a listen!
