Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Privacy, Ethereum, and the Future of On-Chain Finance, Featuring Igor Mandrigin
Q: What use cases are you most excited about for on-chain rails in the near term?
Stablecoins for cross-border and everyday payments, tokenized real-world assets like loans with on-chain secondary markets, and neo-banks building from scratch on chain without legacy constraints.
Privacy, Ethereum, and the Future of On-Chain Finance, Featuring Igor Mandrigin
Q: How do you view the future of Ethereum Foundation and ecosystem education for enterprises?
There is a shift toward more structured, enterprise-focused organizations (EthLlabs, TheoryLive) that can actively educate and bridge gaps between research and real-world deployment, which should accelerate adoption without sacrificing neutrality and permissionlessness.
Privacy, Compliance, and the Future of On Chain Finance with Nikhil Raghuveera of Predicate
Q: If you had to create a dream wishlist of regulatory interventions to push forward the privacy agenda, what would you want to see?
The wishlist includes agency guidance encouraging the adoption of zero-knowledge identity credentials, clear AML-CFT guidance for stablecoins operating on private networks, and asset issuer discretion to determine actions like freezing assets, rather than enforcing rigid protocol-level mandates; these steps would promote practical privacy enhancements while preserving market integrity.
Privacy, Compliance, and the Future of On Chain Finance with Nikhil Raghuveera of Predicate
Q: First of all, do you think Clarity is going to pass this year? And if so, what impact would Clarity have on this policy environment around privacy?
Nikhil estimates a roughly 40-45% chance of Clarity passing, stressing that its complexity and the need for cross-chamber alignment in the US make quick passage unlikely; however, if it does pass, it will shape the roles of agencies like the CFTC, SEC, and IRS and push privacy considerations more centrally into the regulatory framework, indirectly elevating the importance of privacy in on-chain ecosystems.
Redefining Privacy in the Age of AI
Q: How has the job of providing privacy to individuals in identity changed over the time you've been working in this space?
The approach has shifted from purely theoretical constructs to practical, scalable solutions, with regulators and institutions pushing for privacy-preserving capabilities that can operate within legal and jurisdictional constraints, including the use of zero-knowledge proofs to verify attributes without exposing underlying data.
