  • Great help!

Really enjoyed the top ten interviewer and seeing a little more of the personal side of Dave. How about adding quarterly and yearly top tens.

Please do more of the CyberWire-X episodes. It is good to hear about an exploit, but it is great for us cyber professional to get all the details, so we can understand if we could prevent the exploit. Thanks,

  • 30 Minute Advertisement

There’s an add then about 5 minutes of content where the host reads headlines without really talking about the story. And then a sponsored interview that takes up most of the episode and some more adds.

No value to the listener. Just a lot of being advertised to.

  • Great Content

I like the content (and the music mixing) but the host has one of the most AI-generated-sounding voices and enunciation that I have ever heard. It’s not unpleasant, though.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The backup plan needs a backup plan.
Q: What are your recommendations then for banks to really focus on the things where perhaps you're seeing them coming up short?
Avoid complacency even with a plan; ensure plans work in practice, test backups to confirm they are not compromised, and translate cyber risk into financial metrics to drive the right investments and improve resilience.
The backup plan needs a backup plan.
Q: What sort of things do you find are common among banks specifically?
Banks often have gaps in incident response and data backup, with over 40% of cyber attacks stemming from supply chain weaknesses; many banks struggle to quantify risk and align investments with business impact rather than relying solely on compliance checklists.
Think before you deploy the agent.
Q: What are your recommendations?
The guest recommends embracing AI as a force multiplier, training and testing with reps, choosing tools that align with the organization's mission, and ensuring humans stay in the loop to supervise and fine-tune the system.
A wake-up call on frontier AI.
Q: Where do you suppose we're headed here? What sorts of things do you imagine we'll have in place?
Expect stronger enforcement of zero-trust principles, more auditability, and AI-enabled controls that balance security with compliance and business needs, including broader regulatory requirements and cyber insurance expectations.
A wake-up call on frontier AI.
Q: So what are your recommendations then for folks to deal with this?
Adopt a zero-trust mindset with least-privilege access, reevaluate who truly needs access, and design a roadmap that hardens administrative actions while keeping normal user experience frictionless.
