My favorite trilogy
A truly wonderful stor, beautifully told by the author. Worth a listen. 5 stars!
This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I’ve listened to this series. Absolutely love it, have read the new book too and am hoping that John narrates this too as an audiobook.
I’ve just completed the second time listening to Shadowmagic and Prince of Hazel and Oak. The first time I listened to it book 3 wasn’t out yet. I stupidly didn’t sign up for a newsletter that would update me on when it would be out and I missed its release by a few years. The thing is... the story stuck with me. I would remember little details here and there but I couldn’t remember where I heard them from. I would see *spoilers* these dramatic scenes of a one handed prince in a canoe or a giant... more
I love this book! This is an amazing series written by a very funny man. I highly recommend this series. Make sure you listen to all of them.
I feel like these two books would make a really incredible movie.
What a FANTASTIC author!!! I’m not usually a fan of single narrators but this fella is great! This is the third audio book of his I’ve listened to and I really look forward to the next.
It's ok. Not super invested in the story, but it's interesting enough.
I like the storyline, thank John Lenahan for the series
This is a review for the entire series so far but everything said is applicable to the first:
Giving something 5 stars does not mean it is perfect - nor is Shadowmagic. The corresponding descriptions for the stars lower than 5 are simply inadequate. Shadowmagic is better than "Ok" or "Good". It is great. It is a light-harted, fun, funny, action-adventure that has an interesting story, plot twists and is children/teenage/young-adult friendly. It is like a good, family friendly, action-adven... more
As a Western Herbalist the connection to nature warms my heart. 🙏🏾 Thank you
Any hope for more to be released on podcast? I love this series!
Lenahan presents these books with a delightfuly light protagonist who is relatable and humble to the point of empathy. The humor is freeflowing and feel good and lessons doled out without feeling forced. The reading is great as well and the author manages to convey the carachters mood wit a giggle or a snarl in his voice without going too far and introducing digital enhancements which so often can detract from the story.
I cannot wait for Book 3 (Sons of Macha) to be turned into a podcast or Au... more
:)!!
Sequel to Shadowmagic following the story of Connor and his father in Tir Na Nog. Artfully narrated by the author, highly recommended for young adults and adults.
