  • As homey & cozy as a hobbit hole

I first learned about this podcast from the local independent bookstore that was hosting a Lord of the Rings Day featuring Trivia by a PPP host. After listening to over thirty of the first episodes in the past two weeks, I was completely delighted with it, and couldn’t wait to attend. This snow storm changed those plans, but has also provided a great chance to listen to more episodes. Can’t wait to listen to the whole series!

  • Sara hates men

It’s to the point that even being a “bro” is bad and toxic. Sara gets so worked up about “toxic masculinity” but takes feminism to the next level. Great podcast but Sara needs to go or drop the feminism bs.

Added more after listening to another feminist episode. Men are evil and the problem but women can do no wrong and are just used by men. Sara can say whatever she wants about men but I can tell Shawn is afraid to say things about women because he knows how Sara will react. In Sara’s mind it’... more

  • Humor and Knowledge from Valinor

The content is complimented only by y’all’s knowledge of The Legendarium, and matched only by the humor and chemistry y’all have as hosts. The humor hits for those of us Millennials who are seeking more understanding of Tolkien.

May this podcast continue into the many ages of Arda and till the days of the Dagor Dagorath!

  • Wonderful!

Updating: I had read the Silmarillion and just didn’t “get it.” But rereading while listening to PPP and sharing the enthusiasm and love that Alan and Shawn have, has really made me appreciate it. I wasn’t willing to commit to nearly 400 episodes but I’m now 40 in and I get so much from every one. This is just amazing.

Original: I came to the PPP through their podcast on the Rings of Power and was so impressed by their humor, depth of knowledge and insight.

It is a delight. I love that t... more

Q: Why won't Gandalf say the ring verse at Frodo's living room, but will say it at the Council of Elrond?
It's a matter of vulnerability; Gandalf does not want to draw attention to the ring in Frodo's home where they are at risk, but in Rivendell, they are safe, and the verse adds weight to their discussions about the ring.
