A wonderful reading of the best book of the twentieth century. The slow pace is worthy of Treebeard. Narnian points many hidden gems out. LOTRO is a great medium within which to “Explore the Lord of the Rings.” I hope to catch up and listen to the Grey Havens.
Many of the podcasts I follow give great overviews of whole eras of history or types of literature in a half hour. It is harder to find deep dives into topics beyond the barest introduction. This podcast scratches that itch for the lotr, one of my heart books.
A truly deep and wonderful dive. I only worry that only those few us families of who will reach five score years and remain hale, will ever see the end of it!

Professor Corey Olson does a very good job diving deep into a tight textual analysis of the Lord of the Rings. Loses a star based on his extensive promotion of his other projects, as well as an inconsistent and often dismissive view of those who do not share his interpretations, especially, though not uniquely, in the area of textual adaptation.
