  • Great Content-Annoying side material

    Professor Corey Olson does a very good job diving deep into a tight textual analysis of the Lord of the Rings. Loses a star based on his extensive promotion of his other projects, as well as an inconsistent and often dismissive view of those who do not share his interpretations, especially, though not uniquely, in the area of textual adaptation.

    Nevertheless, this is still largely a fantastic podcast (though infrequently updated). It seems to run weekly, though the podcast itself is only updat... more

    I love the content and how in depth it goes

    The only thing that I find really distracting is the person breathing really heavily on the microphone which I find quite distracting they sound out of breath?

    Professor Olsen is excellent in his examination of the Lord of the Rings. Top-notch. So why am I not rating this higher? Well, it’s the seemingly pointless satisfaction on his part that the examination of the text of the corpus will take the next thirty years. At least. And he’s thrilled that he’ll be dead before he’s done - it doesn’t make him think of being a bit faster.
