The three hosts bring a wealth of knowledge and a depth of appreciation for JRRT’s process to their discussions. They have brought many aspects of the ROP episodes to my attention that I would not have seen or heard myself. Biggest concern I have is the need they seem to have for everything to seem “right” to them the very first time it appears. This is not how art works in any medium, especially in any form of story telling with a decent level of complexity. This oversight leads to some ver... more
Alan… this is an affront to the profesor’s legacy. He was a medievalist. A Christian. An anti allegorical writer. This show does not deserve a minute of your speculation. All tenets of the professor have been tarnished by modern day optics and perspectives. Alan you showed me the depths uncharted of arda. Don’t sympathize with its unredeemable marring.
Incredible discussions and interviews. Darn near addictive.
The Rings of Power has been a huge disappointment for me and Im done with it. This on the other hand is much more entertaining. Little bit liberal which grinds my gears slightly but we all have faults.
I like the different personalities of the three hosts. The Australian gentleman is hilarious:)

I really enjoy these three Tolkien lovers discussing the Amazon Prime show. They provide honest opinions and interesting context by referencing the books and other adaptations. I appreciate their fair balance of praise and criticisms. Even if I don’t always agree with their opinions (though I usually do), their reasoning and quips are delightful. I especially love Sara ✨
