Instead of comic book guy this is record store guy. Every obnixious cliche douche hipster opinions you could ask for. The host is the Onion article "Man Always get little rush telling people John Lennon beat his wife." lots of gay jokes unconfortably so.
TRAGEDY!!!!!👍
Keep Savoy Truffle!!!!!
The recent episode on Radiohead is a reminder that this can be the best music podcast out there. It can also be confusing and get watered down with all of the different programs and side casts posted under the pods and sods umbrella on a seemingly random basis. When focused, the knowledge and passion for the music at hand (along with some crazy humor) is truly impressive and makes for immersive listening. Craig and Eric have a great rapport and their longstanding friendship is evident on the sho... more
Thank You for the tribute to Eddie Money.
It was kind, considerate, thorough, and insightful. Of course sad because he’s gone but you did a really great job and had good suggestions to help people discover more of his work.
Fantastic podcast. Keeps me entertained while I work the graveyard shift. These dudes know their music.
I love that there is passion for these 80s bands that got overshadowed by one great song in an otherwise deep and solid catalog. Steven, Eric and Joe take a stroll down memory lane with the best rockers and ballads from one of the Bay Area’s best. Sister Christian get yourself a date and motor, This Boy Needs to Rock! Nice episode…
A great podcast for the listener of varied genres of music. Singer-Songwriter, Pop, Rock, Classic, and current artists are well represented here. The more recent Six-Packs, EM series, Picks The Essential, and Same Pagecast specials are as entertaining and we’ll-presented as the standard PS episodes.
Hosts Eric Miller and Craig Smith, along with a number of special co-hosts provide intelligent conversation as well as their own brand of humor to the shows.
Really like these -lots of fun & energy. Also features on some John from the Hustle podcast & the guys from the Permanent Record podcast
Wonderful Ric Ocasek 6 pack, nicely done guys,
Ric definitely was one of a kind a true innovator, he knew exactly how he wanted a song to sound & with his skills he knew how to cut it to tape flawlessly.
Nice batch of songs you guys picked, great job!!!
Really enjoyed the incredibly deep dive into McCartney's catalog. Even the arguments! And the Six Packs (6 songs from one artist with personal stories and band facts) are fun too. 5 STARS!
Love the humor but yet seriousness of Craig and Eric. They cover many areas and some of the interviews are the best I have heard. Give them a listen to be entertained.
Craig Smith and Eric Miller have provided me hours of music entertainment. My commutes to work with these guys often erupt in uncontrollable laughter fits. Which sucks because I take public transit!
Craig and Eric cover a wide variety of music from rock/metal to pop to r&b/soul. They have a great chemistry and it’s great hearing the history of their friendship. Personal stories mixed with honest opinions, hilarious jokes and passion for the music makes for one of most entertaining podcasts out there. There is something here for everyone. The special guests (Jeff Harris, Brian Jacobs to name a few) put an extra spin on the opinions as well. So put on your headbands (bandannas), tune in and e... more
True music lovers
I’ve listened to many Pods n’ Sods episodes... the recent Maiden ‘82 - ‘88 episode with Craig and childhood friend Ryan was special.
The topic of this era of Iron Maiden was enough to make for a great show, but the inclusion of the real taped sound bites of Craig & Ryan made me laugh (& even made my eyes well up).
(The opening vintage sequence leading into WASTED YEARS gave me chills).
Special show. Hopefully we do get Ryan back for that “WASP” episode ;)
