I have been listening to this nonstop
So much history, Shawn Stockman insight; chutzpah given after the dramatic pause, all of it.
Had me downloading a lot, after references of various artists.
Figured The Temptations were Shawn, Nate, Michael and Wanya's inspirations; was awesome for him to verify it.

This podcast could be really good. I just wish these two would stop talking over each other and the stems that they are highlighting. “Let’s listen to the stems” one second later one of them is talking over the stems or even worse singing over the stems, please God stop doing this.

The conversation blends technical listening with storytelling, offering listeners a mix of nerdy musicology, behind-the-scenes production detail, and personal memories that illuminate how a song came to define its moment and persist in culture. A standout aspect is the chemistry between the hosts—one's encyclopedic music knowledge paired with the other's production-savvy lens—creating accessible, entertaining, and deeply in... more
