Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars from 29 ratings
  • the show brings raw, unfiltered conversations with players, coaches, industry insiders, and divisional grinders who don’t always get the spotlight. It’s not corporate. It’s not watered down. It’s real paintball talk.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Mike Yarberry - YB Sports Ep. 103
Q: What changes do you want to see to help new players join and enjoy the sport more easily?
Introduce beginner-friendly formats like a three-man mechanical league, provide rosters and bios for teams, and ensure jerseys are legible so commentators can tell players apart and tell their stories on camera.
Mike Yarberry - YB Sports Ep. 103
Q: What were the biggest technical hurdles in building the webcast, and how were they overcome?
Bandwith and upload speed were the main issues, especially in remote fields. We upgraded to dedicated internet, used EtherWan wireless radios to link distant parts of the venue, and shifted to YouTube for buffering which kept streams smooth even when the network slowed.
Mike Yarberry - YB Sports Ep. 103
Q: How did you first get involved in paintball and what drew you to streaming it?
I played as a kid, stayed connected through friends, and eventually started a live stream because I was a security industry professional with cameras and bandwidth access. It grew as I learned OBS, got better audio, added announcers, and moved from FB to YouTube to reach more viewers.
Mike Cruz - Saberwolves Ep. 116
Q: How did the Sabre Wolves X-Ball team get its name and blessing?
Mike explains that the team sought the blessing from the original Sabre Wolves, and after reconnecting with Jay they decided to use the Sabre Wolves name for their X-Ball project, receiving approval to move forward.
Daniel Whitehead - OFP Ep. 113
Q: Can you explain for everyone listening, it's been explained before on here, but explain what OFP is and what they do.
OFP is a nonprofit organization (501 C3) that brings veterans and their families together through events like paintball, endurance activities, and other experiences to foster camaraderie and support.
