I've been tuning into financial podcasts for several years now, and let me tell you, most of them are as fresh as week-old bread, recycled topics and ads galore. But then there's the PTP show, the Seinfeld of personal finance podcasts—it's about nothing, and that's what makes it gold. Sure, they throw in some solid financial info and banter, but what really shines are the hosts. Peter's humor is so suburban-dad, it's practically wearing socks with sandals; Dame's got that high-class redneck vibe... more
This is a show I will continue to listen to into the future because of the information discussed and expanded upon throughout. The host, Pete, thinks he is some sort of comedic genius (he isn’t) but his co-hosts are there to keep him somewhat in check. I am growing in my financial acumen by listening to this show so again, I will continue to listen. Even if it’s hate listening.
Good podcast. Damien Dunn is the ballast of the show. He gives the listener a feeling of trust. He’s laid back and seems to have an analytical approach. Kristen certainly adds a lot to the show. She has a great personality and adds a youthful perspective. Peters tries to add some comedy to the show. I believe that Damien and Kristen can certainly host the show themselves if Pete is out.
I have been a long listener of the show and usually found it very entertaining, but in a recent episode he decided to talk about how his 11 years old son is a better soccer player than the soccer players on his 14 years old daughter’s soccer team and decided to make it into a thing about how boys are superior athletes to girls.
Can personal finance be funny? No, but at least these guys try. more
