  • College Ball

Paul should be a national college football show instead of just the SEC, specially now. But basically his show describes the passion in college football nearly every day. Yeah, he gets annoying with some of his takes but this is one of the main shows in the sport where many fans gravitate.

  • Sham show. SEC homer

This guy is an embarrassment. Someone who couldn’t make it as a waterboy now has “knowledge” about CFB. He is a paid SEC smoke show. Starve him so ends up where he belongs

  • Gaslighter

I used to like Paul but lately it just feels like he’s a grumpy old man who talks gibberish and gaslights his audience. His takes aren’t rooted in any truth and he flip flops more than a Waffle House cook. I gradually stopped listening and now I unfollowed this hallow old man.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hour 1: Matt Zenitz, CBS Sports
Q: What stands out to you in the Big Ten?
The Big Ten remains loaded with talent, especially Ohio State and Indiana rebuilding through the portal; several players are viewed as NFL prospects, and the conference's depth is emphasized by new additions like Josh Hoover and Charlie Becker, among others.
Hour 3: Ralph Russo, College Football Writer, The Athletic
Q: What can you tell us in terms of how did this finally come about?
Public outcry, coupled with an accelerated process on the Hall of Fame criteria, led to Mike Leach's inclusion on the ballot, though there was nuance about whether that guarantees induction given his lack of conference titles and certain record details.
Hour 4: Paul's Calls
Q: Why did Lane Kiffin's comments draw such strong reactions?
Responses centered on the perceived use of race as a tool in recruiting and public relations, with callers and guests arguing it reflected a strategic, perhaps transactional approach to controversy rather than a principled stance.
Hour 4: Paul's Calls
Q: What did Chris Smith think about the Vanity Fair piece and Lane Kiffin's comments?
Chris Smith offered his assessment of the piece, noting it presented a provocative money quote and discussing how the article might affect recruiting, while also highlighting how the media cycle amplified certain aspects of the interview.
Hour 3: Chris Smith, Contributing Editor for Vanity Fair
Q: What inspired the Vanity Fair piece and how did it come together?
Smith explains that the piece grew from a desire to move beyond headlines and caricatures, aiming to reveal the person behind the public image by spending extensive time with Kiffin during spring practice and listening to both insiders and athletes, ultimately pitching the story to editors and LSU to gain access.
