Alabama being in the playoff is a joke. They passed Notre Dame after beating Auburn by 7 and then remained ahead after being blown out in the CCP. The first year that the “eye test” and advanced metrics do not favor Alabama we magically decide to push the narrative for resume because “it’s different for the 12 team playoff”.

Defending the decision and the process shows a lack of credibility.

Good show but cubelic needs to stop cutting people off. He interrupts McElroy literally at every turn. Also interupts guests. Greg can't even get a full sentence out and cubelic tries to dominate everything. I listen mostly for Greg's analysis so this gets old.

4-22-26 McElroy & Cubelic in the Morning Hour 3: Losing regular season games because of CFP expansion; Jordan Reid talks NFL Draft; Ice Cube joins the show!!
Q: What impact does Garrett Nussmeyer's health issue have on his NFL Draft stock?
Reid explains that the health concern likely improves his draft stock in some ways because it confirms the character and toughness in terms of playing through adversity, though it introduces questions about long-term durability and medical clearance. Overall, the assessment is that the health issue is a factor but not a deal-breaker for teams, especially if he demonstrates strong performance and stability in interviews and workouts.
Jordan Reid, from ESPN, tells McElroy & Cubelic what a team will get when they draft Ty Simpson, why this is such a deep WR draft, and which position is surprisingly the deepest
Q: Where do you see Ty Simpson coming off the board and what makes him intriguing?
Late first round to early second round, with potential to go in the 27 to 32 range or 34 if a different destination is chosen; the intrigue lies in his maturation, the size-to-skill combination, and the ability to execute complex offensive concepts despite limited starts.
Jordan Reid, from ESPN, tells McElroy & Cubelic what a team will get when they draft Ty Simpson, why this is such a deep WR draft, and which position is surprisingly the deepest
Q: What does Garrett Nussmeyer's health situation do to his draft stock this weekend?
It should help his stock overall because the health issue was known and now clarified; teams will factor in his ability to stay healthy and perform under pressure, which could push him toward the later part of the first half of the draft or into the second/third depending on team needs.
4-22-26 McElroy & Cubelic in the Morning Hour 1: Looking back at SEC Spring games; AJ McCarron names DTR starter; Berry Tramel talks OU Spring Ball
Q: Be it locker room, be it on the practice field, meetings, whatever that is, what have you already seen that maybe has you thinking, yeah, this is gonna be a net positive for us?
The new quarterback bring-in has improved command in the huddle, sparked clearer communication, and accelerated offense tempo; players have shown quick adaptation and the team is responding with better on-field execution.
AJ McCarron, head coach for your Birmingham Stallions, tells McElroy & Cubelic why he made those QB changes & named Dorian Thompson-Robinson the starter, how great it was to have that massive crowd at Protective Stadium, and how they plan to move forward & face the DC Defenders
Q: What led to such a monumental move?
The decision was driven by the need to change the energy in the quarterback room, improve ball security, and inject new leadership and command on the field, with DTR bringing a different style and the ability to extend plays.
