Thank you Joan!!! Just found your podcast and listening as fast as I can. This mid career US physician is wondering how I will survive another ten+(?) years. Burnout happens when I lose touch with my humanity and become another cog in the wheel. Your content helped me at a very difficult time.
I listen weekly and often find Joan’s words fleshing out some thoughts bouncing around in my brain. She has helped me set boundaries and centre my humanity at work.
This is such a great podcast for practical advice on how to become more compassionate toward yourself and learn self coaching in order to become the doctor you always hoped you could be. Love it- especially the only human in the van episodes.
Also a family physician and these podcasts are so helpful helping me shift my perspective and outlook on practice, life, obligations, worry. Thank you so much for your time and sharing. I look forward to enjoying more insights. Thank you.
I am also a Canadian family physician and can really relate to basically everything you have shared! I feel so relieved that I’m not alone! Thank you so much for opening up this space, and for talking about both the joys of being a family doctor and the difficulties, especially during a pandemic. Keep the podcasts coming!
