I have just found this amazing show and it’s phenomenal. Rob controls the game so well whilst giving the players every chance to flex their skills. Compelling, riveting, horror filled storytelling and I have over 300 episodes to binge listen to. How lucky am I 💜
an impeccably produced actual play podcast set in a world not unlike our own, where people with extraordinary abilities work to investigate and protect the world from ontologically problematic events. think the X-Men solving the x-files, plus a secret war for the future of everything.
while it's an actual play, you don't need to know or care about the game mechanics - they are mentioned but not belabored over; listen for fantastic collaborative storytelling.
It's gross but my god is it good.
this is such an intricately and diabolically-constructed puzzle box of a podcast! the characters, production quality, and sound design are all excellent and do so much to build a full (and frightening) world. if you aren’t hooked right off the bat, stick around till the Overdue Book arc, and you’ll be in it for the long haul.
I’ve listened to a few, and none have topped this!

A high-energy actual-play RPG podcast that blends occult lore, espionage-style conspiracies, and multi-arc storytelling. Across recent episodes, discussions center on exploring eldritch powers, navigating morally fraught decisions, and staging cinematic battles within a living megastructure and a sprawling town-in-crisis. Production value and character chemistry are frequently highlighted, with fans praising tight storytelling, atmospheric sound design, and intricate world-building. The show often threads long-running arcs (like Chester Incident and Visitations) with high-stakes negotiations, ritual mechanics, and complex alliances, making it appealing for listeners who love immersive, darker fantasy and methodical campaign progression.
