Such a wonderful and weird project. They always amaze me.
It’s unbelievable how great this show is, so much talent all around!
Found this show recently, and I’ve been binging the entirety of it the past few days. It’s incredible. The improv, the humor, the guests, the concept of the show - all tremendous. I’ve listened to a ton of CoC podcasts, but this is probably my favorite.
Also, as a keeper, it’s really helpful in improving my own improv skills for failed rolls, fumbles, random stuff my players do, etc. Highly recommend!
Ross is brilliant as a PC on Time for Chaos, but improv GMing is not doing it for me. And in a TTRPG actual play, I don’t think the rotating cast is my cup of tea either, no matter how much I like the other guests.
If you like improv GMs at the table you play RPGs at, you’ll probably like this. But I prefer a gm who’s prepped, and I think it translates over to which TTRPG pods I like best.
It was worth a try, and it’s not terrible, but it’ll never be the podcast I play first on my commute.

This show blends Call of Cthulhu actual play with aggressive improv, delivering standalone one-shot stories driven by listener-submitted prompts. Episodes lean into cinematic horror-comedy, rapid worldbuilding, and on-the-fly storytelling where dice rolls spark twists that bend the mood from spooky to silly. A recurring hook is the “push the roll” moment, which introduces fresh prompts mid-session to twist the narrative. The format attracts fans of improv, tabletop RPGs, and spooky, high-energy storytelling, with strong production values, rotating guest casts, and a playful crowd-work dynamic that keeps each episode feeling fresh and improvisational. A noteworthy aspect is the heavy emphasis on audience participation through Patreon prompts... more
