Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Large families and homeschooling
Q: What is your core homeschooling strategy with a large family?
Education for us is discipleship; I remind myself that God picked me to mother these children, so I lean into flexibility, avoid rigid perfectionism, and use curriculum as a tool rather than a master, allowing room for interruptions, prayer, and leadership from the family as a team.
Large families and homeschooling
Q: All right, you have 11 children, but you did not always plan to have so many. How did you get this far?
We began with a conviction to let God lead our family, listened to His prompting even when it meant hardship, and gradually moved toward embracing a larger family as a reward and responsibility. The journey included unexpected pregnancies, reversals, and wrestling with fear, but ultimately it was faith, prayer, and a community that supported us that kept us moving forward.
Paul Brown of Wasson Watch: Homeschool Dad, Free Speech Advocate, Abolitionist, and American Patriot
Q: What should parents monitor online to protect their kids from harmful worldviews and misinformation?
Parents should actively engage with what their kids consume, discuss larger worldviews, and counter misinformation in real time, as no parental control app can fully replace ongoing, contextual conversations at home.
Paul Brown of Wasson Watch: Homeschool Dad, Free Speech Advocate, Abolitionist, and American Patriot
Q: How does homeschooling influence entrepreneurial thinking and family dynamics?
Homeschooling allows parents to model work and decision making, expose children to real-world entrepreneurship, and tailor learning to individual strengths, fostering independence and practical problem solving outside rigid curricula.
Paul Brown of Wasson Watch: Homeschool Dad, Free Speech Advocate, Abolitionist, and American Patriot
Q: How do you view Islam in the context of U.S. and Western civilization, and why is understanding this history important?
The guest presents Islam as a system of power and domination historically at odds with Western civilization, emphasizing the Barbary Wars and Indonesia of faith in public life, while arguing that these dynamics require careful analysis of eschatology and geopolitical strategy.
