  • The best!

This podcast has helped me realize my interest in geology as a non academic. My adhd kept me from a career in science but I’ve always loved geology. This podcast has rescued me from politics and has greatly improved my mental health. Thank you Nick! Hopefully I can sit in on one of your classes someday!

  • Never cared for geology until…

I first saw Prof. Zentner on his PBS show Nick on the Rocks. I’ve watched all those numerous times and had to find more. I never cared about geology before in my 60+ years. I’m now getting obsessed. I’m not much of a YouTuber, but Dr. Zentner is a good reason to change that.

Thank you for teaching me to care about your science. It really enhances my Outdoor life here in WA. Excellent podcast! I enjoy listening. Love the PBS work. See you on YouTube.

Q: Will you be able to find evidence of that, that there was ice over the top of Spokane?
Bretz had evidence of two different ice sheets, and this weekend I will be visiting sites that may provide evidence of that earlier ice sheet over Spokane.
#119 Spokane Radio Interview
Q: Are you going to be telling that in future videos? Or is there going to be some filming this weekend?
There will be some filming this weekend, and I hope to capture discussions with experts on the Spokane ice sheet and the related geology.
#119 Spokane Radio Interview
Q: What kind of feedback did you get after your keynote speech?
Most comments were constructive, focusing on the need for context and details, but I reminded attendees that the target audience for my series is not geologists but the general public who may not know much about geology.
#119 Spokane Radio Interview
Q: How did you come to end up in Central Washington, Ellensburg?
I discovered geology after working in Glacier Park as a college kid, then attended the University of Wisconsin and Idaho State University before I began teaching and wanted to be in Central Washington.
