  • Rhode Island Charlie

A blow hard who cuts people off and twists words. If he disagrees with you good luck getting a decent word in. Obviously has an agenda. Says he is after the truth but actually after his truth. I listen to try and hear both sides. Often call him names while listening because of the way he treats others. 3 star because I listen. 1 star and I would not listen.

  • Rhode Island at its best and worst

Even though Gene has no idea how podcasts work I will give 5 stars for Tom. The show gives a daily report of domestic and international news with care and often sarcasm / humor. Well produced by a great cast of characters. The seagull army charges forward.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

06-17-26 Former Rhode Island Attorney General Jeff Pine
Q: Jeff, is this indicative of, well, if nobody gets involved, next thing you have the Kitty Genovese case, where a woman's being murdered in the alleyway and nobody did anything, they heard her screaming.
The guest explains that while the motorcyclist created a dangerous situation, taking the law into one's own hands with a trash can is risky legally. The discussion highlights that proper action would involve seeking authorities or restraining the danger without escalating violence, and acknowledges the potential for mixed liability depending on who contributed to the harm.
05-19-26 Rhode Island Education Commissioner Angelica Infante Green
Q: What is this plan going to say and when will we know if Providence schools return to the city?
The plan will delineate each party's lane, outline the necessary guardrails, and emphasize that return should occur only with a clear, agreed framework that prioritizes students and accountability; a firm date is not set, but a process is being developed.
05-21-26 Farouk Rajab Rhode Island Hospitality Association
Q: Can you explain, in simple terms, how this lid requirement would work when a customer sits at a bar and orders a drink?
It would require the bar to have a lid available upon request for drinks served at the bar, and a sign indicating lids are available; the customer could ask for a lid, and staff would need to supply a suitable lid, though there are concerns about fitment for different glassware and practicality.
05-18-26 Nicholas Shanos Suburban Pharmacy
Q: What do you want to protect the 12 independent pharmacies from the big guys?
They want several legislative measures to address predatory pricing, below-cost reimbursements, and burdensome prior authorizations to create a fairer playing field and protect patient access to locally owned pharmacies.
5-18-26 Gary Garabedian
Q: How can listeners participate in your fundraising effort?
Listeners can sponsor Gary as he plays, with donations collected daily, and contact him via email to receive a QR code to donate.
