  • Right wing nut

How is it that the people in charge of WPRO don’t know what to bring to RI listeners. We don’t get fair & balanced accountability in journalism. Instead we get right wing nut jobs ranting & raving all day.

  • Tucker Carlson a 1/8 the budget.

Trash reporting and completely one sided. He somehow does not see that he is in the wrong. Even though he says the overwhelming majority is “left leaning whack-a-doos” he insists he is right. Matt bud, if more people are telling you, you are wrong, then right, then you are wrong. You say trump was a choice between garbage and sewage. Cool how many “left leaning whack-a-doos” storm the capital when trump won? Hmm interesting. Trump supporter threaten to kidnap governors. Take a look in the mirror... more

  • “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble…”

I listen to 630 am everyday because most of their hosts are truly passionate about understanding “the other side.” Even when I disagree with a particular stance, they often bring up valid points that force me to reevaluate where I stand on issues. Because I listen so often, I also see how most of the hosts adjust their stance when presented with new information. Ultimately, as a person that leans just left of center, I truly appreciate how this seemingly just right of center group of hosts chall... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Surplus Provision and Firearms Co-Owner Tonya Pereira - Assault Weapons Ban
Q: So what's not banned then? Is it something easier, obviously semi-automatic handguns?
Handguns and pistols are not affected by the ban, and rifles without certain features are allowed; some non-serialized firearms or those lacking specific prohibited features may also fall outside the ban, but overall the ban is broad and restrictive.
Billy Hunt - Signature Process for Running for Office
Q: What does the apparatus look like for gathering signatures, given limited resources and volunteers?
The operation relies on distributing petitions to volunteers, collecting signatures across different towns with city-specific forms, and then ensuring every signature is notarized and correctly filed; it's a logistical marathon that reveals how campaign organization tests itself.
Dr. Maggie Morissey-Basler - Heat Safety
Q: Is eight ounces every 15 minutes a universal rule for hydration during heat exposure?
Not exactly; recommendations vary by professional guidelines and context. Hydration needs depend on exposure, activity level, and whether the person is in the shade or in direct heat.
Dr. Maggie Morissey-Basler - Heat Safety
Q: What are the signs of heat-related emergencies to watch for while attending outdoor events?
Key signs include confusion, dizziness, disorientation, and any behavior that is unlike the person's normal self; these require immediate medical attention for possible heat stroke.
Ed Cotugno - Mail Ballot Process, Signature Collection Process, and more
Q: How much does a mail ballot operation cost and how is the workforce structured?
Typically around six-figure budgets with paid staff and, in some cases, volunteers; Ed explains his team of about 10 people working 4-5 hours daily at around $20/hour, plus other expenses.
