  • Right wing nut

How is it that the people in charge of WPRO don’t know what to bring to RI listeners. We don’t get fair & balanced accountability in journalism. Instead we get right wing nut jobs ranting & raving all day.

  • Tucker Carlson a 1/8 the budget.

Trash reporting and completely one sided. He somehow does not see that he is in the wrong. Even though he says the overwhelming majority is “left leaning whack-a-doos” he insists he is right. Matt bud, if more people are telling you, you are wrong, then right, then you are wrong. You say trump was a choice between garbage and sewage. Cool how many “left leaning whack-a-doos” storm the capital when trump won? Hmm interesting. Trump supporter threaten to kidnap governors. Take a look in the mirror... more

  • “It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble…”

I listen to 630 am everyday because most of their hosts are truly passionate about understanding “the other side.” Even when I disagree with a particular stance, they often bring up valid points that force me to reevaluate where I stand on issues. Because I listen so often, I also see how most of the hosts adjust their stance when presented with new information. Ultimately, as a person that leans just left of center, I truly appreciate how this seemingly just right of center group of hosts chall... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sen. David Tikoian - Energy Legislation
Q: How does the bill propose to save ratepayers money and diversify energy sources?
The guest frames the measure as diversifying energy procurement to lower costs, referencing past actions like pursuing nuclear power contracts and the regulators' role in approving projects to protect consumers, while acknowledging environmental concerns and the need for stakeholder messaging.
Sen. David Tikoian - Energy Legislation
Q: Senator, what happened with the bill and its introduction timing?
The senator explains the bill was filed in February with a hearing later in April, emphasizes that there was no nefarious intent, and notes attempts to build bipartisan support and involve the House side to avoid a rushed, one-sided process.
Tim White WPRI - Mt. Hope Bridge Inspection Report Lawsuit
Q: What is the TSA's role in this, and how does it affect release of the report?
The TSA is the federal body that would review whether releasing the report would create a security risk; however, the Bridge Authority has claimed SSI protection, and the TSA has not conclusively granted that designation in this case, leading to ongoing delays and legal maneuvering.
Tim White WPRI - Mt. Hope Bridge Inspection Report Lawsuit
Q: So, the original story on this is that you had some local citizen types... that wanted to see these reports, right?
Yes, the request came from local residents and journalists who wanted to see the inspection report; the agency said it was denied, citing security concerns related to SSI and federal regulations, which set off a broader legal battle.
Providence FOP President Mike Imondi - Providence Mayoral Race
Q: Do you get involved in endorsing candidates, and will you be involved in this one?
Mike says the union historically has not endorsed local candidates but suggests there may be consideration in this race, depending on candidates' positions and impact on the police department.
