  • Horrible

These two love the sound of their own voices. They go on and on and on about nothing interesting giggling like children the entire time although no punchlines have been uttered. The world would be a better place if not everyone knew what a microphone was.

  • Lost its Magic

This TNM was influential for me several years ago. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly obviously – but I am a different person today from who I otherwise would be, because of this podcast.

I keep trying, but I can’t get through a single episode anymore. The shift from The New Man podcast to the Tripp +1 (wife) show doesn’t do it for me unfortunately.

  • Great host, great content

Loved your coaching call (9/13/23) with the guest who’s afraid to put himself out there because he's afraid of criticism, etc. What really resonated with me was your candid conversation about ways he can cope and overcome. Tons of amazing takeaways about courage, self confidence in this episode! Thank you!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Burnout Almost Broke Him. How Jon Rose Got His Life Force Back.
Q: How did psychedelic therapies influence your recovery and your relationship with emotions?
Psychedelics opened breakthroughs by surfacing hidden truths and breaking strong behavioral loops, especially around alcohol; they were not a cure but a catalyst that helped rewire thinking, while traditional therapies and integration kept the gains in place.
Burnout Almost Broke Him. How Jon Rose Got His Life Force Back.
Q: Was burnout something you could admit to or did you have to push it away to keep going?
It was acknowledged gradually through a pattern of physical and emotional signs; the decision to confront it came with a recognition that continuing the old rhythm would be unsustainable, leading to a deliberate shift toward healing and integration.
Is Psychedelic Therapy Worth the Hype? Will Van Derveer MD
Q: Is there a real hope that psychedelics will enter standard medical practice in the near term, and what does FDA progression look like?
There is growing evidence from trials, and FDA approvals could come for specific psychedelics like psilocybin within a few years, but regulatory approval will depend on demonstrated safety, efficacy, and robust clinical protocols including preparation and integration.
Is Psychedelic Therapy Worth the Hype? Will Van Derveer MD
Q: What are the differences between clinical psychedelic therapy and traditional ceremonial contexts, and why does that matter for healing trauma?
Clinical therapy provides one-on-one safety, guided questions, and non-interference with the patient's experience, which supports processing and integration in a structured way; ceremonial contexts can open up experiences that require substantial post-session support, and lack of integration may lead to harm or unresolved trauma.
Why Being Perfect Makes Us Weak — Alyson and Tripp Lanier
Q: What was your morning like?
Tripp worked on another podcast and clarified an earlier comment about waking up at 4 a.m. to work out, stressing that the performative aspect of it is what's problematic.
