The Narrow Path is Steve's teaching ministry primarily to Christians. In part, it is a one-hour, call-in radio show. Christians call in with questions about what the Bible says on many topics and how certain passages can or cannot be interpreted. Occasionally, an atheist or agnostic or one of another faith calls in to inquire or raise objections. Steve takes all calls, including objections to what... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Narrow Path 05/20/2026
Q: Could you share two examples in your belief system that have changed since you began teaching?
The host explains that while the fundamentals of his worldview remain stable, his interpretations on topics like eschatology, the pre-trib rapture, and Zionism have evolved over decades as he re-examines scripture and is not afraid to change when the biblical evidence points in a new direction.
The Narrow Path 05/15/2026
Q: What is the proper sequence of salvation, baptism, and belief?
Belief and repentance come first, with baptism following as the public declaration of that faith; salvation is not earned by baptism itself, but baptism is the traditional next step after faith.
The Narrow Path 05/07/2026
Q: Yesterday you were talking about how Revelation was written for the people at the time, and I've heard that it is often interpreted as end-times prophecy. Could you point me to how you present Revelation and where I can study more?
I've written Revelation for Views, a parallel commentary showing four major interpretive approaches; my website thenarrowpath.com hosts verse-by-verse Revelation lectures representing those views, and Revelation Four Views presents a balanced overview of the positions, with my own views explained in lectures but not forced on the reader.
The Narrow Path 05/07/2026
Q: Israel there, do you believe that's a reference to the whole church? Or do you think he's focusing with that particular usage on just the Jews within the church?
Paul's olive tree analogy includes both believing Jews and Gentiles grafted into one people; the faithful remnant within Israel represents the true Israel, and Gentiles are included as part of the same spiritual Israel in Christ; thus Israel in this sense refers to the church as the unified body of believers.
The Narrow Path 05/07/2026
Q: I have two questions. One is based on Ezekiel chapter 3 and 33 where he talks about the watchmen. What are we in that? Do we have accountability as watchmen also? And that's pretty strong. And the second question is, I really want to know what you think about all this UFO stuff or UPA, whatever it is.
The watchman imagery applies to a responsibility shared by prophets, teachers, and believers in warning about spiritual danger; not everyone is called to the same role, but the principle of accountability applies to those who have knowledge and influence, while UFOs or extraterrestrial possibilities are acknowledged as uncertain; the Bible doesn't give definitive answers on such phenomena, so believers should avoid letting curiosity distract from Christ and His gospel.
