  • You have said that when your wife says "when you have a minute coukd you do this" it means do it now. I woukd take this to mean coukd you do thus soon, not what you said that you need to do it now. If she means do it now, that is what she should say.

  • Solid Wisdom, but Will No Longer Listen

I think Dave and Ashley are great at being vulnerable and have a lot of wisdom for married couples. However, when I heard that they are having Jimmy Evans on as a guest after the spiritual abuse and controversies he was involved with came out, l I just had to unfollow. No matter if he was the founder of XO, he should not be given a platform to give guidance on anything spiritual given that he has only given excuses for his behavior and no apology.

  • Life changing

My husband actually introduced me to this podcast. We will listen to episodes apart from each other and talk about them later. It feels like we are constantly poured into in a good way and talk about it afterwards. We absolutely love this podcast!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Sex series (Part 7): Understanding Sexual Aversion in Marriage
Q: There are days I don't feel in love with my spouse. What does it actually look like to choose love in those moments?
Love is a commitment, not a feeling. In those moments, focus on agape—choosing to serve and put your spouse first—while allowing feelings to catch up later.
Sex series (Part 5): The Sex Questions Every Couple Wants Answered
Q: What does healthy communication actually look like in the middle of an argument when one person shuts down and the other gets louder?
Acknowledge differing processing styles, set a time to talk, prepare thoughts privately (journaling), and use a calm, structured approach where each person speaks without interruption, pausing as needed to prevent flooding.
Sex series (Part 6): What Husbands Need to Know About Menopause
Q: What does rebuilding trust actually look like in day-to-day life?
Rebuilding trust requires consistent, intentional actions: forgiveness, giving each other space to heal, transparency, affirming effort, and choosing to move forward with grace rather than holding past hurts over each other.
Sex Series (Part 4): The Lies We Believe About Sex in Marriage
Q: How can you fix a marriage if your spouse will not let go of being hurt by feeling ignored?
Respond with patience and consistent care: acknowledge past hurt, communicate a desire to understand today, and continually show up with love and attention, while allowing time for healing and granting grace; avoid pressure and focus on rebuilding trust through small, reliable actions.
Sex Series (Part 1): Beach Chair, Kitchen Stool, Baby Seat, Broken Chair
Q: How do I step back from taking on leading the home due to my husband's lack of leading, and how can I encourage him without making him feel pressured or inadequate?
Encourage personal growth in your role, acknowledge small leadership moments, and avoid blaming language. Seek mentorship from couples you admire, consider external coaching, and invest in learning how to communicate praise rather than criticism to reinforce positive leadership attempts.
