  • Uwe Boll is always enjoyable to listen to, especially here, being interviewed by Adam and Joe.

  • Clickbait for their Patreon

I listened to an entire episode waiting for them to go into detail with the guests about a specific topic they advertised at the top of the show and in the description, only for them to cut the episode off at the end and plug their patreon to hear the rest of the interview.

  • Talk over their guests

This is a great podcast if you are interested in the hosts only. They tell rambling stories and talk over their guests, making it a chore to listen to their interviews. I listened to the Kyle Gallner episode, which started with 17 minutes of complaining about a different unnamed guest, and then cut off in the middle of Gallner’s sentence because the rest of the interview is on patreon.

  • Lefty nutbags

Tried giving this a shot but when they start off an older episode talking about how the death of RBG affected him, I’m out. Also talks about how little girls don’t have a role model now and hope that AOC is the new role model. Just more dumb, uneducated libs.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep 675: Lou Taylor Pucci
Q: As an actor, what elements in a script help you dig into a character, and what on the page distracts you?
Pucci emphasizes starting from the outside-in: he builds the physical and external, via body and look, then lets internal transformation follow, using changes like hair and body to embody a new person and unlock emotion.
Ep 676: "Jeremy Slater"
Q: What is your process for tackling large IP lots and deciding when to outline or go straight to drafting?
I dislike outlines and treatments unless required, but I'll do outlines to satisfy bosses; otherwise I prefer to let ideas brew, know the ending, and write when I feel the story ready, letting the momentum guide how I shape scenes.
Ep 676: "Jeremy Slater"
Q: When did you realize you were good at writing, and how did you discover your voice?
I realized in high school I could write well and tell stories, but the real breakthrough came from trying to emulate heroes, then finding a voice by writing a lot, failing, and continuing to push—eventually landing on projects that felt like 'me' rather than perfecting someone else's template.
Ep 673: Ian Tuason
Q: What was the point in your journey where things went totally wrong and seemed like this was never going to happen, and how did you not give up?
Ian shares that he never really felt discouraged; he believed the next project would come and kept focusing on the next step, maintaining hope and perseverance despite rejections and logistical hurdles.
Ep 671: Steve Barron
Q: What advice would you give to someone trying to bring tactile, emotion-driven puppetry to screen while managing the physical demands on performers on a long shoot?
Be brave, trust your cast, cast well, and recognize that the performance comes from both the performer in the suit and the puppeteers and crew behind them; plan carefully, cast for strength in the practical aspects, and learn from every test not to overburden the performers but to support them with the right technical/creative setup.
