Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Tape #10: Wonder Woman
Q: What surprised you about Wonder Woman's involvement in Crisis?
We were surprised by how limited she was in the main Crisis narrative, yet her influence persisted through side issues and Earth-2 material, which later fed into post-crisis reinventions.
Tape #14: Crisis on Infinite Earths Animated Films
Q: How did the animation style and vocal performances affect the storytelling?
The panel agreed that the animation had a gritty, noir influence that suited the material, with standout voice acting (including Kevin Conroy's brief return) that helped sell crossover moments and emotional stakes, even if some fans longed for a Pérez-style aesthetic.
Tape #14: Crisis on Infinite Earths Animated Films
Q: What was your overall impression of the trilogy as an adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths?
Chris felt that the Tomorrowverse films deliver a strong, emotionally resonant experience with clever writing that ties together many DC animated universes, even if the adaptation diverges from the comic's plot and sometimes prioritizes character moments over strict beat-for-beat fidelity.
Tape #15: Sandboxers vs Canonizers
Q: So Kevin, could you tell us a little bit more about what you're trying to accomplish with the book and what story you're telling here?
Kevin Miller explains that The Crisis Companion aims to document Crisis with a rigorous but accessible approach, blending historical context, creator interviews, and analysis of how continuity and canon evolved. He emphasizes moving beyond nostalgia to examine why Crisis mattered and how it reshaped storytelling, while also sharing the personal motivation and research process behind the project.
Tape #17: Crisis on Infinite Earths #4
Q: What is your crisis origin story, Mike?
Mike recounts growing up with comics, discovering Crisis through first exposure to Earth Prime and era collecting, and how his early reading shaped his long-running engagement with crisis lore.
