  • Balanced perspective

I love Michael’s thoughtful approach to our current political division. I truly felt every word of the September 28, 2025 episode, What Makes A Great President. If only our politicians could echo your words.

  • Lib slop

Critical of Trump but never of Israel. Typical liberal echo chamber. I naively thought this show might have some differing perspectives but alas your standard npr approved opinions

  • Calm

Michael is a breath of fresh air because of his calm demeanor. He doesn’t feel the need to scream and yell at his audience. He is fair and balanced unlike the podcaster acolytes of our politicians

    Not listening to you today!

Your constant negativity is so depressing.

  • Old fan returns a decade later

I grew up listening to Michael Medved in the back of my parent’s station wagon when he would fill in for Rush Limbaugh in the 90s. Michael then became a staple of my teenage years as my political opinions were starting to solidify around a conservative worldview.

I regarded him as one of the most intellectually formidable thinkers of the golden era of conservative talk radio at that time, and his honesty and commitment to following his convictions really stuck with me.

    Fast forward to today.... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 1,642 - Tom Nichols on the war in Iran
Q: What is the worst-case scenario Nichols envisions?
A scenario where Trump declares victory while Iran remains politically powerful, with the Strait of Hormuz open but the regime still in place, undermining U.S. influence.
Ep. 1,642 - Tom Nichols on the war in Iran
Q: Why does he think Pakistan is being used as a mediator?
Because there is no clear leadership driving a coherent policy, and Pakistan offers a geographically strategic and politically convenient avenue, though it may not solve the core problem.
Ep. 1,642 - Tom Nichols on the war in Iran
Q: What does Tom Nichols see as the biggest flaw in the current Iran strategy?
He argues there is no credible Plan B and that military pressure has not produced strategic results, warning that conflating force with political resolve is a dangerous miscalculation.
Ep. 1,641 - Lanhee Chen and Daniel McCarthy
Q: Why might Republicans need to embrace Trump's agenda to win, according to Daniel McCarthy?
McCarthy argues that aligning with Trump's agenda is essential to energize and retain the conservative base, and to appeal to independents who support restrictionist policies, otherwise the party risks losing elections.
Ep. 1,636 - Nicholas Kristof: It's already a quagmire in Iran
Q: OK, so the key strategy for escaping that pickle, what would be step one? Are we going to have to go back to some kind of negotiated deal with the mullahs remaining alive in Tehran?
President Trump has two clear options: declare victory and pursue a deal reminiscent of the JCPOA, or double down with force and potentially seize territory or escort tankers; the force option risks deepening the quagmire while a negotiated settlement is arguably more feasible given the costs and deterrence concerns.
