Please pardon this old crank but because you’re so excellent, nothing less will do. Hindenburg was s President which under the Weimar government was Head of State, not head of government it was the republican equivalent of the constitutional monarch’s role in Britain. He did not run with Hitler, but as Oresident he appointed Hitler to be Chancellor, following the deal Hitler struck with others in the Reichstag.ernmem.
VDH said something today I’ve been thinking for a while … that Hassan Piker is an anchor baby. He is indeed a perfect example of the hazards of birth tourism. I have a dread of the great numbers of people born inside our borders who are returned to countries hostile to America but who have all the rights of our citizenry. Truly the Supreme Court got it all wrong on birthright citizenship. We should emulate the rest of the world in requiring that the newly born take the citizenship of their paren... more
I’ve listened to Victor’s sage analysis and commentary on current events and politics for years now and can’t recommend him enough. His brilliance is also shown around world history, especially WW2 and Greek times. I also recommend his books. Listen to Victor as a lone (normal) voice in a wild, crazy world!
I have noticed many commentators seem to differentiate between Socialism and Communism I know Victor remembers the Soviet Union was the USSR (United Soviet Socialist Republics) we didn’t refer to them as Socialist we knew them as Communist.

A forceful, history-minded political analysis show that stitches current events to longer historical narratives. Episodes routinely dissect geopolitics (notably Iran and the Middle East), U.S. policy, and cultural debates, with a hawkish, conservative lens and sharp, opinionated takes. Sponsor segments and bookish asides are common, giving the discourse a recognizable, quotable cadence. The host and frequent co-hosts lean into provocative comparisons, constitutional themes, and institutional critique, which makes the program feel like a syllabus for listeners who crave principled, long-form commentary over quick takes. Notable strength is the blend of historical context with contemporary strategy, which can attract listeners who enjoy deep-... more
