  • Broken record

Hanson always falls back to play the Trump administration for the victims of the left. He finally acknowledged in the latest episode Kushner and Witkoff aren’t Iran experts but has not a word of criticism for the president who has naively put them in charge of Iran negotiations. Correctly flags the Department of State should be using its experts but acts as if it’s only Rubio experts who are there, unwilling to acknowledge the hundreds of non partisan diplomats who have been the backbone of th... more

  • Consistently excellent

Victor’s learned perspective is always worth a listen. He offers an invaluable corrective to the misrepresentations of American conservatism that are so ubiquitous in legacy British media.

Wishing him the very best in his battle with cancer. Thank you for all your work, sir.

Don’t be fooled — VDH is just another one of Trump’s brainwashed cultist. He isn’t bothering to think critically about anything at all anymore. He is happy to defend corruption or nonsensical wars if his King says so. Conservative ideals be damned. His takes on the Law and Supreme Court are laughable. Most of the “History” he pulls from for context are just racist anecdotes and outdated things his parents told him 100 years ago. I tried to give this a serious listen, but it’s terrible. I’m walki... more

Hi Victor, I greatly appreciate your wise words each and every podcast! They are often they education I wanted for my history and government classes that I never received. I would like your recommendations for books to read that the founders would have read to set our government. Those books are no longer being read in the upper levels of high school education and I highly doubt that the college level. I think that list would be valuable!

Frequently Asked Questions About Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words

What is Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words about and what kind of topics does it cover?

A forceful, history-minded political analysis show that stitches current events to longer historical narratives. Episodes routinely dissect geopolitics (notably Iran and the Middle East), U.S. policy, and cultural debates, with a hawkish, conservative lens and sharp, opinionated takes.
