  • Daily uploads and more Duane

Please upload the show each day. I love the show but end up playing catchup with old news.

I agree with others that Duane should be the only guest host.

  • More Duane Plz

Love the show. Need to release shows on a more consistent basis. Keep the weekend pod, make sure you’ve got one on Tuesday or Wednesday morning at the latest, and fill the gaps with DUANE! That format costs you nothing. Also, Duane should be the all-time backup QB here. Never ask Mark Davis or Schlicter again. Those guys are hard to listen to. DUANE, DUANE, DUANE! 🫡👏👏👏

  • echo chamber

Enjoy the topics and Hughs interview style. That said, most of this is Hugh interviewing other podcast hosts (echo chamber) and, notably, almost never interviewing anyone from across the aisle who might push back on Hugh.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Democrats’ political sink hole: Hasan Piker
Q: What is the 30,000 foot view of Hasan Piker's phenomenon?
The guests describe Hasan Piker as a media force whose online presence can distort or amplify political narratives, potentially dragging together candidates with problematic associations while also signaling to a base that demands strong responses to his statements; the conversation stressed that the problem for Democrats is not just his Twitch notoriety but the dangerous ideas he and others espouse.
Canadian Tariffs, Hasan Piker, and the Case for Data Centers
Q: What should policymakers do to ensure data centers help communities without overburdening them?
Use the tax increment effectively to fund public goods, consider rebates to taxpayers, avoid selecting winners and losers, and ensure infrastructure like grids and water systems are upgraded to accommodate growth.
Canadian Tariffs, Hasan Piker, and the Case for Data Centers
Q: What is the potential revenue impact of a single data center on local government budgets?
In Texas, a county with a single data center reportedly saw more tax revenue than its entire prior budget, suggesting strong local fiscal benefits that could be redirected to taxpayers or used to improve services.
Canadian Tariffs, Hasan Piker, and the Case for Data Centers
Q: James, what's in a data center and what are the principal objections against them?
A data center is the computing infrastructure powering internet access and devices; the main objections concern energy, water use, and land impact, but proponents argue these can be mitigated with closed-loop systems and that the societal benefits—jobs, tax revenue, and local investment—outweigh costs.
Can Republicans Keep The Senate?
Q: What is NAVSEA and why does the President want it reformed?
NAVSEA is the Naval Sea Systems Command, responsible for lifecycle management of ships and submarines. The segment explains reforms to grant more authority and reduce bureaucratic friction, aiming to accelerate programs and bring NAVSEA into the 21st century.
