Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#31 - Romeo Stevens | Reducing Neuroticism, Metalearning and Core Transformation
Q: So, what does it look like to have the best possible community that you can sustain in your life?
It can feel like a very large downscaling of ambition to go to realistic change, but it can also mean finding smaller communities where people don't want to spend their life on zero-sum nonsense.
#31 - Romeo Stevens | Reducing Neuroticism, Metalearning and Core Transformation
Q: So I wonder if you could explain to the listeners like how you went from that state of suffering to where you are now?
It was basically a decade long project where I sort of went through interventions in sort of increasing ordering of risk, and didn't take any psychedelics until I was like 26 or something because I wanted to try other interventions first.
#31 - Romeo Stevens | Reducing Neuroticism, Metalearning and Core Transformation
Q: If you were to generalize some of the things from that retreat that you think were particularly effective in reducing neuroticism, what do you think they were?
The neuroticism decrease is an output of some pretty deep shifts, and certainly some of the physical practices seemed to be just as important, if not more important, than some of the cognitive insights.
#27 - Andrés Goméz-Emilsson | Qualia Research, Neural Annealing, Emotional Processing, DMT and Jhanas
Q: How have your research findings influenced your lifestyle?
I do Jhana meditation every day and I enjoy it. I'm so glad I invested in it.
#26 - Michael Johnson | Jhanas, Awakening and Vasocomputation
Q: What's your current take of what kind of thing a human is?
The brain likes to hallucinate and is grounded by different nerve clusters, or chakras, which communicate bodily needs.
